The Game had several records…including the highest combined total yardage in NFL history…1151 yards.

My argument is not that they didn’t do the right thing. My assertion is that the statement that a different strategy would have been the wrong thing, because it would have potentially resulted in not limiting the time afforded Brady, was incorrect.
For a 40-year old, Brady played a spectacular game. But, to me, the right team won. This was a great game for the NFL. Nick had been the underdog in every playoff game. He earned his stripes yesterday like a man among men.
A ‘3 and out’ refers to you when you get the ball, and just get three plays before having to punt. If you get even a single first down it is not a 3 and out.
Good point. A three and out means the the offense was especially bad and/or the defense was especially good because one side got the ball and did nothing with it. Unless your team makes an especially good special teams effort with that punt, you’ve just hurt your team’s chances to win and probably gave the opposing offense favorable field position when they get the ball back. Having to punt after you get one or more first downs isn’t the same at all, it means you made some kind of offensive progress and that kind of punt doesn’t have nearly the pejorative meaning that a three and out does. It’s a really important distinction.
I guess I wasn’t thinking about that.
There was a 3 and out that led to the only punt - after the Pats missed the field goal in the 2nd quarter, the Eagles got the ball at their own 20, Ajayi ran for 2 yards on 1st down, then 2 incomplete passes, and a punt.
And to think: that 3 and out nearly cost them the game!!
Jesus, it just gets worse and worse as you scroll down.
Jesus, and I thought it was bad the last time the Steelers won. All we had were a few couchs burned by some drunken college students. Stay classy, Philly.
Three and a half billion years of evolution and this is where we’re at?
Ate…horse shit.
BTW…the “Philly Special” where’d they get that…the Harlem Globetrotters?
Degeneration is also evolution.
The celebratory idiocy wasn’t limited to Philadelphia. Apparently some Eagles fans in Austin decided that this was a good occasion to vandalize the iconic Stevie Ray Vaughan statue.
I officially now hope that the City of Philadelphia never wins another championship ever again. Seriously, the SRV statue?
I now know that “It’s Always Sunny” is a documentary.
I’m sure this will turn into an episode, and Riot Juice makes another appearance.
