The Early Morning MMP

Smoke on the Water and Tiptoe Through the Tulips.

she looks nice** Jim**

Well Swampy, I’m working on it. It’s been part of the ups and downs lately but I will spare everybody the house hunting details. I debated waiting until January when I file my taxes (the house I originally wanted is still on the market) but I don’t know if I can handle much more here. I’ve been looking in WV, which makes me feel guilty because my agent isn’t licensed there, he did so much work for me and it sucks to cut him out. I’m taking tomorrow off to go look at a few houses. Both of them need work, one is going up for auction and the other is owner financing. There is another one I am watching to see if the contract on it falls through.

I also debated renting but rent is going to be higher than a mortgage and by staying here I can save money and for 4-6 months I don’t know if it is worth it. I looked into rent to own but all those sites want you to pay to join and all I see is SCAM Why should I be paying to look at a list of houses?

I’m getting ready to order pizza. I should have ordered earlier but Sah-son likes to sleep in.

Kids these days. I blame helicopter parents.

Fortunately, Oldest Nephew seemed excited about driving. He’s going to have His Own Car and everything. So if any of you are in Winston-Salem or any town in the Triad, I highly recommend you all stay off of the sidewalks.

Bobbio, I guess my dad was exorcising the devil as he tooted down the hall to the bathroom every morning throughout my childhood? He is a good Lutheran after all (for all he keeps trying to be Catholic).

Hello pretty!

This has been one of *THOSE *days. I started out by wearing unmatched brown loafers - one nice and relatively new and one more than 20 years old and spotted with clay drips and scuffed and generally worn out. No, I didn’t notice by the fit - both are broken in to my feets. I noticed when I got to work and went to the bathroom and looked down. So that was the first thing.

I was there barely half an hour when my boss told me I needed to go to the main base to get my new gate pass since mine expired today and with the shutdown, the pass office was going to close at 10. I drove over there, getting caught and a gawd-awful traffic mess because apparently they were strip searching everyone going on base. OK, maybe not that bad, but there were still backups in all 3 directions leading to the gate. So I just parked across the street and took my life into my hands by crossing Three Notch Road.

Despite what my boss told me, they didn’t have me in the system as approved for a pass. I tried to call, but I didn’t know the boss’ desk number, and he didn’t answer his cell. So I drove back, told him what the issue was, and went back to my desk to work. An hour later, he told me it was all taken care of and I should head right over to the base again, since they were still planning to close at 10. And I got there, and they still didn’t have authorization for me. This time, I had the phone number, and I called my boss and told him what they told me. About 10 minutes later, the appropriate supervisor called the pass office and with 5 minutes to spare, they issued me a pass that’s good thru Halloween.

Of course, this would happen on the day when I’m in the truck - **FCD **took the car for an oil change. So I’m driving all over the place in a pig that gets a whopping 16 MPG. AAAARRRRRRGH!!

And poor **FCD **- while he was waiting for the car, a guy in the waiting room was going on and on about how Bill Clinton has AIDS and Chelsea is a love child of Hilary and someone in her law firm… That was after my sweetie encountered a woman in the Wawa who was blaming the price increase of the newspaper on Obamacare. I love this county, but there are *waaaaaaaay *too many ultra-right-wing whackos loose on the streets.

At least I had a decent night’s sleep last night. So there’s that. Now I need to figure out what to do for supper. I’m hungry, but I don’t know what I want. Where’s the supper fairy when you need one??

Happy Stoopit Tuesday!

A ukulele/bass duet would be nice, but I might need to get me an electric ukulele. (Apparently they do exist.)

I’ve got an accordion - we could be a trio!!!

Pear is purty Jim!

Dindin is et. Chikin parts are coolin’ down and in a bit should be cool enough to pull off the bone and chop up. I have aigs all boiled as well. Got a bag of frozen mixed veggies to throw in as well. This will be a gooooooood chikin pot pie.

MOOOOOOM just dang! Glad you got your pass.

Thus it is here in swampland.

ETA: a bass/electric uke/accordion video would go viral in no time!

Depends on what we covered, I guess. Or we could write original songs.

I wrote a polka when I was 7 - we could jam that!

FCM don’t you just love it when a simple task turns in to an ordeal? Don’t you just love it when other people’s screw ups cost you money? If nothing else, the crazies keep it interesting.

We are having pizza and subs for dinner, all ordered and just waiting for it to get here. The driver will get a bigger tip than usual because I am out of small bills. I didn’t do laundry today because well just because. Don’t want to and I have enough clean clothes to get me through until next Tuesday.

I am so sleepy, I almost fell asleep on the last customer who called me. That would probably get me fired.

Pearl is pretty, Jim! And I can wait to hear you, FCM, and Midget

I have a kazoo, can I join?

Another successful evening of stopping anyone stealing a building- have agreed to do it tomorrow (and I think thursday) too. Ugh.

It’s incredibly boring, but I need the cash. At least today I got to go inside to help lock up too, which was a bit more interesting; but for most of the time, there’s no-one there, and nothing to do.

Do you still have sheet music or a recording of it?

Bass, ukelele, accordian, & kazoo concert end of the month, cause that quartet would just be …scary. :stuck_out_tongue:

The world has been waitin’ for a polka with a good bass beat! This could be the beginnin’ of a polka resurgence!

Chikin pot pie is assembled. I post waaaaaaaaaay too much about food.

So I see we have a Mumper band, Kazoo counts as a horn, so horn keys it is

Lets see a Polka, in Eflat, 2/4 time, 12 bar blues pattern, Lets add a little turn around on the VI, keep it upbeat so say 160 bpm, start on the V. Got that everyone?

Ok Go
:eek::smiley:

Jim

You’ll need a vocalist - I volunteer

Weird Al is pleased

lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala!

I have now tempted fate. This afternoon, I mailed off the final payment for our truck. Any bets on how it will spite me for taking on full ownership? I had the battery replaced last week, so maybe it will behave for a little while.

The fun part will be taking that $600 a month that went to truck payments and making other bills disappear.

$600

I thought my $275 was bad.

I don’t know if I just saw a mouse run by or if it was the shadow of feet passing by my door. I haven’t seen a mouse in a long time so I hope it was just a shadow.

I’m so bored, it’s a slow night.

ouch, that’s double what I paid for Rory.
