The Early Worm Gets the Bird -- an East of Greenwich MMP

Blurf.

Got up niiice and early, and got my teeth really well scrubbed up for my dentist appointment this morning.

It’s tomorrow, isn’t it. :smack: That’s far too long to not use my teeth.

I think I’m about 70 miles away from BooFae, and the weather here is slightly chilly and a bit damp, with a very light breeze. Unless someone called Sandy nipped round and cut her power off, I doubt that’s happened.

Anyways, I should be away; I’m going to nose round a nice garden centre and fishy shop, 'cos I need more food for the baby axolotls.

There is one advantage in living in a dodgy area- we don’t get trick or treaters, they all go to the next suburb up, which is posh. Happy Halloween!

Oh, blurf is me. 'Tis Halloween, and I’ve no chance to celebrate or dress up. Work doesn’t even let us wear costumes, which is just wrong.

My team has six techs and a manager who can do techie stuff. One tech is out all week. Another tech was out Monday and Tuesday. A third tech got pulled away on a project, and a fourth tech was put on a conference call for hours. My manager spent his day shuttling from meeting to meeting. So, it was me and the last tech holding down the fort yesterday, and I’m long overdue to organize the build room and schedule the next round of builds for new hires. Consequently, I spent nearly 14 hours here yesterday, and I’m still behind.

Oh, and Cleo the kitty has decided she needs to be an escape artist. She’s made two successful dashes for the outside. The day before Halloween. Did I mention she’s a black cat? But she couldn’t resist the lure of her favorite swishy feather toy, so I tricked her back inside. She tried again this morning, but I stomped my feet at her, and she stayed clear.

Also, I have a headache.

Since I’m a bear and it’s Hallowe’en I dressed up as a human. Humans won’t know it’s a bear stealin’ their beer and cookies. The other bears think it’s hilarious. We bears know how to partay!

Then again, it’s just another day at irk. Blech!

Don’t panic, folks, I’m here! It’s pretty windy here today but nothing like what you East Coasters have had. I have just been out to the bank and almost got blown across campus - if I pick the right route out of here, I could get a good following gust all the way up the hill to the station!

I had me a major facepalm moment here. At my last job, I was always telling people I was a freekin’ ray of sunshine. Turns out, lots of places make “Freaking Ray of Sunshine” t-shirts! :smack: I’d have bought one in a heartbeat. I still may. But doggone, what an opportunity missed!

Work is slow. I did a quick fix for my girl in PA, but she hasn’t sent me any more to do. I really dread getting back to making library parts - BORING!!!

I just had me some chawklit chip cookies. I just knew y’all would want to know.

Woohoo!

I’m wearing an orange wool jacket and black pants. That’s as costumey as I get. I bought a small bag of Three Muskateers fun size bars figuring that since I hate it, I won’t eat it. Wrong. I nommed 5 of those suckers last night and wonder why my tummy’s upset this morning. D’OH!

Tonight’s excitement will consist of trying to put Bob teh Wonder Pony’s blanket on. It goes over his head and horses are not exactly fond of large pieces of material pulled over them, causing darkness . OTOH, if my friend stuffs him with carrots as this is happening, he won’t care.

It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is on ABC tonight at 7pm CST. I love Peanuts holiday specials.

Happy Halloween. I did not dress up. When my boss saw me he said I was out of costume and should have dressed as Wonder Woman or Super Girl.

I haven’t dressed for Halloween in years.

It is raining, raining, raining and really jacking up the commutes. I’m kind of hoping that the rain will keep most of the little monsters indoors and we don’t see a lot of ToTers. I’d turn off my porch light, but people here seem to be clueless about what that means and ignore it. They ring the doorbell and the dogs go bonkers.

Well, I must dig into work. Donwanna.

I know he doesn’t want to go to Yuma, but neither do I. :stuck_out_tongue:

Smart cookies.

People who have seen 3:10 to Yuma might want to go there out of curiosity, but anyone who’s been there once knows there’s even less there there than in Oakland. I’ve had the misfortune of being there twice due to where extended family members decided to live.

Just a regular day here.

Halloween…? Wazzat???

phouka - get one of the new machines to display a boot splash that says “Linux” all over the screen (instead of the windows logo) :stuck_out_tongue:
Give it to whoever on your list most resembles Pointy Haired Boss
Bring popcorn…

Heh  Dunno if he has the same sense of humor as I do, but I’m reading that as a nice compliment.

Happy Halloween!

sah-kid off to school, sah-pup snoring away
Got my am irk shift done, time for breakfast.

Grey and dismal looking outside.

Swampy not nice if you’re no gonna share!
I need chocolate!

Here, have a cookie Sari. I have a stash in the bottom left hand drawer of my desk.

Taters I kinda agree with Special1 in that I think your boss was payin’ you a compliment for bein’ such a super duper employee. Or he just might be sayin’ he thinks you’d be hot in a Supergirl or Wonder Woman costume which would then make him a creep. Wow, amazin’ how stuff can be taken ain’t it! Sounds like you made the right choice to pretty much ignore it.

I have jambalaya for N.O.L. This is keepin’ me from eatin’ more cookies right now cause it’s gettin’ close to **N.O.L.**time and I don’t want to spoil my appetite. I make yummy jambalaya.

Leftover tuna-noodle casserole for lunch - yum! The sun has actually peeped thru the clouds a few times and I saw a wee bit of blue sky earlier. Yay!

No cookies or chocolate here, alas. I wonder if there’ll be leftover candy brought in tomorrow??

Or maybe it’s both!

That . . . would be awesome. I keep asking them why we can’t run Ubuntu, and I get mutters about the health care industry, profit margins, and global conspiracies.

It’s astonishing what a small dog can do to polycarbonate lenses, isn’t it? Lil Miss Rowdy, my mom’s dog, happened to be teething when mom got new no-line bifocals and foolishly left them within reach of the puppy. Smells like mom? Feels good to chew on? Yep.

I had no idea that a six pound dog’s jaws were strong enough to carve divots out of polycarbonate. It looked like someone had taken a Bedazzler to her glasses. She ended up having to replace them.

Special1 we can always count on you to make sure it’s extra sleazy.

Ha!

Swampy only thinks he has cookies. :::raiding his secret stash:::

My knee doesn’t hurt.
For the first time in months.
I don’t know what was wrong with it, kind of a dull constant ache. It didn’t want to bend so every night in bed I would make it bend.
There was a weird twisting sensation behind my knee before it could bend.
Sometimes the ache would go down my leg and into my ankle.
Last night I’m laying in bed and my knee doesn’t hurt.
Today it feels a little stiff but it doesn’t hurt.

I can literally do the happy dance!

Nah, that was just normal sleazy :stuck_out_tongue:
