The Early Worm Gets the Bird -- an East of Greenwich MMP

Maybe I should borrow a boat instead of driving?

Lol, I don’t think it’s THAT bad. Let me link the local paper, it should give more up to date info as you get closer. The tunnel, which is the major freeway connecting to most of the north, was closed for a while, but I suspect it’s open by now.

Well, Sandy isn’t even making the front page anymore, so I’m guessing things are kinda back to normal
If you can rent a car, I might do that; Norfolk and VB, for all the rain they get normally, has a CRAPPY drainage system, and it doesn’t take much rain to flood out intersections, which sucks for your car.

Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out as it gets closer. I haven’t heard anything back if the houses were damaged.
Renting a car could work, I’ll get reimbursed. I have a truck though so I might be okay.

Our paychecks got messed up, the office is in PA and they lost a bunch of data, but it’s been recovered and checks will be corrected.

Verizon finally fixed the phones, damn squirrels chewed through the wires and water got in. Even though my phone was okay now, it was close to going.

LibbyCat woke us up at 5.30 this morning to get fed. Grrrrrr damn cat. Stoopid clocks changing!

I have as my mam would say “knocked doors out of windows” this morning I worked out, stripped the sheets off the bed and washed and dried them, steam mopped all the tiled floors, dusted whole house, scrubbed bathrooms and kitchen, folded and put away masses of laundry and all before 11AM. Mr ems has gone to wash the bug guts off our car and the we are headed to my office to pick up my work truck so I can head out to Dallas tomorrow straight from here. But first…shower!

Crap. :frowning: I broke my tape dispenser sculpture - at least the “tape” part, grrrrrrrrrr I wonder if I can fire the base, then fix it to take real tape?? It’s worth a try.

I also glazed 2 coffee cups and decorated a bowl. But I’m done 'cause I’m tired and discouraged. I’m gonna knit. bah!

Watching football at the Bistro. Go Packers!

Bummer about the dispenser, FCM

nap time

Maybe you can tape it back together?

runs away

: slaps Ethil with a wet trout :

Stoopid new alarm clock can’t tell when to fall backward, so I was up and at 'em at 7 am, showered and ready to face the world an hour early.

So, I went out for coffee and a scone. Sat and read until people started lurking over me, hoping to get the table I was sitting at. Drove to Best Buy to pick up a new headset to replace the ones that broke for no dang reason, then to irk.

Waiting for stuf to break… more than it already is (still over 400 sites down on the east coast…). Not mine to fix, though, so that’s a good thing.

Howdy Y’all! All deheathenated, brunched and napped. Even have some laundry done with last load washin’ away as I post. Go Me!

Tao I say Ethi should take a pic of himself wearin’ just the boots and email it to us so we can decide if he should get 'em or not.

StickyBuns I was gonna suggest talkin’ to the Prof, the Dean and the Registrar. Seems to me the Prof has had enough time to take care of that by now.

Ok, gotta go check on last load of laundry, get it in the dryer and ummm… well, really nuttin’ else.

Oh and it’s rainy out!

It has not been a spectacular day in the House of Scones. But I’m trying to worry about my own worries and let everyone else figure out their own.

I’m finally getting back to homework after our birthday lunch for my grandpa. So, I guess I’d better get back to it.

The poke loin rescued after being forgotten has been dispatched (mostly) to the freezer - 2 small roasts, 7 “chops” plus 2 more "chops that we’re having for supper tonight. They’re in the toaster oven right now, and I’ve got N.O.T.s, onions, and mushrooms simmering in leftover pot roast broth, and broccoli standing by till the other stuff is almost done. Supper should be yum.

That’s all I’ve got. I never did get outside to attack the yard, and it’s getting depressingly dark way too early. :frowning: I’ve got an evening of knitting ahead. Life’s so exciting here…

Thick cotton socks take a long time to dry. Everything but them was dry. I wanted everything dried at the same time. Why must they torment me so!

Just irking away here.

Sah-kid poked his head in, wants some hamburgers for dinner. I swear the kid could live on pizza, hamburgers and priogies with the occasional soft taco thrown in.
He’s easy to feed but it gets pretty damn boring.

I’m logged in for another 15 minutes although now sah-dog is up and giving me the look.

I’m hungry too so may as well log out while it’s slow.

Nuttin’ like the look from the dawg right Sari? “Yo! Human! It’s mah supper time!”

Things I’ve learned today that I probably had already known but forgotten: Ice is a mineral. Granite is composed of igneous rock.

Why yes, I am working on a unit for 3rd grade science. Why do you ask?

StickyBuns I probably knew but had forgotten those too. You done fought some ignernce!

Packers win:), storage is more cleaned out, pondering dinner.

swampy, hair dryers will fix the sox problem. And blow dried socks on a cold day are nirvana.

The dog was more like if you don’t let me out now I’ll have to pee on your leg.
Then supper time.
