The Early Worm Gets the Bird -- an East of Greenwich MMP

The perfect time to head to the kitchen and whip up a batch of cookies then! :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s with the cookie obsession today?

Sean it’s a well-known mumper fact that beer and cookies are my two favorite food groups.

Or, as BBBobbio says beer and <snerk> cockies! <snerk>

Plus cookies are a necessity in any emergency, disaster, huge storm and/or zombie apocalypse.

Well it’s a good thing we aren’t having any disasters here, then, as the only disaster is my cookies!! I used margarine instead of butter and must have mixed too long or something, 'cause all they did was go flat and burnt.

So I’m eating more cookie dough. Which is just about as good.

Awake from my nap.

Land lines still down, like I really expect them to magically start working.
Cable blipped out for a few minutes.

Otherwise it’s just a cold, wet, rainy day here.

I can’t believe the list of closings going across the bottom of the TV screen, they should just say ‘everything is closed you damn idiots’ and be done with it.

Oh the humanity! The VunderLair will not survive the night!

I just looked; we have no chawklit chips to make cookies!

Weather report: still blowing. Still raining. Temperatures dropping into well digging range.

Talked to my friend in Harford County, the siding is being ripped off her house and her lights are flickering.
This is unbelievable she delivers newspapers and *no papers tonight * I have never known the paper to shut down.

I know it’s not over but it looks like AA County may have dodged the bullet.

Hi everybody,
As you might have noticed I have been hiding out for a while, have had a lot going on and not much to say…

I just wanted to say keep safe all my right coast Mumpers, keep us posted if you can

We lost power for about 20 minutes in my little corner of Navytown, but obviously it’s back iffn I’m postin’.

windy is an understatement. it’s as if we were in Jupiter’s Big Red Spot.
The rain itself hasn’t been too bad although the storm surges have flooded both shores.
And there’s a tree down across my street - gee - I guess that means I can’t go to work tomorrow. rats.

Stay safe and dry East coasters!

Monday is over with thank goodness. Onwards to the rest of the week.

Why do I want cookies?

Class is over. The presentation was fairly successful. I haven’t had any cookies, but I did have one small brownie. Quite tasty.

My supervisor just called - the office closed at 10:00am today and is officially closed tomorrow. Yay.

Cookies aren’t allowed in our house. We’ve been on a clean low carb diet for a couple months. We’ve each lost about 20lbs.
Otherwise, I would make TONS of cookies for everybody!

I don’t have a huge storm in my area, but do have a stray kitten I can’t keep (and rescues are full), plus problems with my TV (I have ruled out hardware, problem seems to have to do with the cable input at this stage).

Glad to hear it,** rosie**.

Where are you?

Sacramento, CA. City shelter’s full, rescues are full, haven’t been able to check with SPCA yet. Can’t keep her myself due to lease restrictions (pets are required to be over 1yo, altered, and housebroken) and displeasure from our established cat (OK, Allie might get used to baby eventually).

All the local schools are closed here tomorrow. I’m wondering if there will be water aerobics in the morning at the Y and grief group tomorrow night. Hmmm… Could be an interesting day just me and my forks and a butane torch here at home.

dammit.
