This election is certainly an extreme example but even with a ‘normal’ presidential election what is the process that goes on in building the new anamatronic president. Or rather, when is the process officially begun. Not untill after the election is officially over? Or are there hints from Disney corporate to start on the person they want to see win? Any journalists out there, this would make a great soft news piece.
As an aside, ISTR reading somewhere that Michael Eisner donated to both the Bush and Gore campaigns.

I’m sure Imagineers have built a prototype body with all of the internal mechanisms already. Putting on the clothes and facial features will be the smallest, and last, detail of the job.
