I miss the colored lights and Christmas trees-that is why I keep mine up till Candlemass Day (Feb. 2)-sometimes i keep it till St. Patrick’s Day (Mar. 17). I need it, because the coldest and darkets time of winter is ahead! Plus, I put green lights on the tree for St. patrick’s day!
I’m the only one up and am enjoying the peace and quiet.

We’re going to a friend’s house tonight to celebrate the New Year. It also happens to be their wedding anniversary.

We have located the neighbors of the dog. The owners are out of town, and left her with someone, but the neighbors don’t know who. The neighbors usually feed her anyway, when the owners travel. Yay!
Mr Rebo is heading back here to pick her up and deliver her home.
She gutted three stuffed animals while here. 
I sent her home with a hard rubber bone that my dogs didn’t like.

Good afternoon, all! Slept in, then went to Mexican grocery store for pork carnitas, bread (bolillos and various sweet rolls), beans, and other stuff.
Very funny dream, FCM. I’m sure** LiLi** will appreciate the additional children without needing to actually be pregnant.

Boys are out throwing a football and basketball. Then it’s off to the super supermarket and later it’s off to First Night, downtown. We’ll be home well before the loonies hit the road (fireworks are at 10:30, but we probably won’t stay for those; we should be able to see them from my neighborhood).
I need a nap. I was up way too late last night and then woke up around 4:30 and was awake for a couple of hours.

Meant to respond to Muffin’s comment on Kodachrome. It is sad, isn’t it? I didn’t realize they started making Kodachrome in 1935. :eek: Here’s Steve McCurry’s blog entry from yesterday. Kodak gave him the last roll of film that was produced and he had it developed at the place that did the last bit of development (and took the last picture on his roll in the town where that photo lab is).
My sweetie finally got home - after getting lost en route. I should have gone with him - I rarely get lost. Anyway, the car is unpacked and he’s vegging, so that’s good.
No idea what to do for supper - we need a supper fairy.
I got through irk and then had a nap. After all, I must host tonight so beauty rest was necessary.
I need to get busy I guess. Hot wings, meatballs, shrimps and stuff won’t make themselves even if you sit 'em next to various pots and pans. They just won’t jump in and cook themselves. Uncooperative things they are!
Gah. The leasing company charged us $58 to get a bottle cap out of the garbage disposal. Due when the rent is due. They’ll have to deal with getting the water bill a couple of weeks later then. :smack:
Plus we’re coming up on the slow season at work. While that’s good for everyone’s nerves, it’s not good for everyone’s paycheck. 2011: The Year I Get A New Job For Serious Real.
Things are actually not that bad, I’m just fretting. I woke up an hour before the alarm fretting and it’s just continued throughout the day. One more day before the weekend!
Goodies are all made and I have collards a’ cookin’ for tomorrow (I like ‘em better if they’re cooked the night before and reheated) and black-eyed peas are a’ soakin’. New Year’s stuff is officially underway at Chez Swamp.
I’m old. I’m gonna take a nap for a few hours, then get up in time to watch the ball drop, watch the town fireworks from my front bedroom, then go back to sleep.
We’ve had some nasty storms today, and at least one confirmed tornado. Lots of damage in the Jackson, MS area. I’m to the west of Jackson, and all we got was heavy rain. Others have it worse.

The festivatin’ has begun. I came in to say this. Thing JDD’s Brother Lives With is feelin’ under the weather a little bit and decided not to come. JDDBrother did come. I’m glad Thing didn’t come. I am officially an awful person.

My bet is that someone’s lighting fireworks, Alien. That’s pretty normal around here.
Sounds like there were quite a few tornados in your general neighborhood, Annie. Glad you’re OK.
We stayed home, but walked a couple of blocks to watch fireworks that were going off downtown. We’ve been watching Cheers on and off all day and have just switched back to That 70s Show.
But I was falling asleep, so I’ve crawled into bed and am planning to fall asleep in the next few minutes. Just wanted to stop in to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!!
