All quiet here. We did actually get some of that free water called “rain”. Twas a nice change. Hopefully it will happen again sometime soon.
Otherwise I intend to spend the weekend recovering. Headed in the right direction (yay antibiotics). just not very good at sitting around. When I was a kid I thought sick days were awesome. Now I’m not sure what to do with myself. Must practice relaxing.
(coasters, coasters - um - anyone seen the coasters?)
I misread that as commode and was highly amused for a minute.
flytrap’s mention of Shabbes dinner reminded me: Detailed AGM got a loaf of challah bread today. We immediately renamed it “Holla Bread” because it was so good it made us holla.
I hasten to add that I’ve been running off of four hours of extremely interrupted sleep all day and I’ve been a bit loopy. Now I decree it bedtime.
Worked in da Hood. When I left something at the gas station across the street was on fire. My truck “broke down” in front of the Bistro, so I had a beer. then some friend showed up ,so i had more beer and a catfish Po Boy. One more day of work then hockey.
Sorry about your friend, Spidey.
If I went on a cruise, I’d take over the ship, and go pirating.
Taters, i like unstructured vacations, too.
sari, with all the on/off things in your life, I think you may (or may not) be the reincarnation of Schrodinger’s Cat.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 82 for the day. Well, BRRR! I shall be headed over to the church house in a bit to assist with mowage of the back forty. I kinda wonder if it won’t be too wet, but with it bein’ the back forty and all that probably won’t matter so much. ‘Twill be nice mowin’ weather however, so there’s that.
Taters actually, MOOOOOOM did have to deal with an overflowin’ terlet. AIR, it happened durin’ the first week. I’ve been on a cruise for five days and that was fun. I believe seven days would be about the limit though.
The storm we had yestiddy afternoon caused more stuff to happen than I knew about at the time. Nuttin’ here at da cave but in town there were several wrecks, downed trees/limbs, downed power lines and several traffic lights went out. Glad we didn’t have to leave da cave for anything.
Sunny yay for feelin’ better!
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, I must make myself presentable. I’d say purtify, but how purty does one need to be to mow.
Well, so much for mowage of the back forty. Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig rain just as I got to the church house. Looks like it might rain here anytime now as well. So instead of mowin’ we raided the pantry in the church house kitchen and ate some cookies.
It’s a cool sunny beautiful 63 degrees with a high of 78 for today.
I have no idea what I am doing today. Mostly irk I think.
The HFH came by a few times yesterday to get more stuff and I see there is still more stuff out there. They haven’t taken their bird yet either.
My eyes were bothering me yesterday and I thought it was lack of sleep. It hurt to read and my lashes were full of crud. Finally I looked in the mirror and it looked like my eyes had been outlined in red liner. I thought oh shit I think I have pink eye. They look better today but if it starts getting bad I’ll have to go to the doctor.
So the shed is getting moved this weekend and settlement is still scheduled for Monday - however it may be delayed again because another sister is protesting the disbursement of the funds.
I am paying $90,000 for this house. After you take out a the costs of selling it, the costs of remodeling it, the costs of the repairs, it seems to me the only people who are going to make any money on this sale are the lawyers.
Anyway the seller has made me an offer
If we don’t settle on Monday she will rent the house to me for the the sum of
$1/month.
I think I can live with that deal!
My niece is coming by later. Another trip into the attic.
Sah-son decided he is still going to move with me even though the HFH aren’t here anymore. I expect he will want to bounce back and forth for a while. My mother has always been good to him and they are close.
Read lots, retained little I’m off to get something done.
Believe me Swampy I am leaving.
I should have done it years ago but it was easy living here. With my mother gone as much as she was here it was not so bad. Even if I did have to deal with her craziness sometimes.
She says she wants to sell the house anyway and get a condo, no more yard work. Of course she says a lot of things and never follows through.
Flytrap I may be having some issues with my mother but I’m not going to let it come between her and my son. She and her bf depend on him a lot now, to mow the lawn, shovel the snow, carry heavy things in and out. They’ll find a way to manage without him.
Seriously the house has a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, new roof, new windows, freshly painted inside and out. After all is said and done each sister is maybe getting $15,000. Not a small amount but hardly worth getting a lawyer to fight over it. It’s not like I’m paying $500,000 where it might be worth getting a lawyer.
Sari maybe those sister’s are each other’s HFH. They sure sound high maintenance.
Lazy Sattidy here. ‘Tis rainy out and there is no desire to go anywhere for any reason. I have boneless poke chops thawin’ for dindin. I shall yank out a couple of twiced baked N.OT. from da freezer, and roast some zucchini and summer squish in the oven. The poke chops shall be grilled. That is the big plan for the day.
OYKW is snoozin’ and I’m snoopin’ around teh intartoobz. Life is good.
I just woke up from a nap, I need it.
My eyes feel and look a whole lot better.
I think so Swampy.
I got an email from the seller apologizing for the delay. She said the sale was already rough because it’s the home where she grew up. I told her I was sorry for her and that I appreciate all she is doing.
However it doesn’t change my feeling that I have my own crazy assed bitch of a sister to deal with and I sure don’t want to deal with another one.
The HFH just drove off with another load of stuff and they have more to go. Sah-son told me I need to come see the fridge, it is almost empty.
Veggies are roastin’ in the oven. Zucchini and summer squish cut in strips, tossed with olive oil, sprinkled with cajun seasonin’ and placed on a foil lined pan. Bake at 325 for twenty to twenty-five minutes. They smell soooooooooo good. OYKW lit the grill and will shortly grill poke steaks. I’ll heat the twice baked N.O.T. in the convection oven shortly as well, then bake up some rolls. Dindin shall be oh so nummy!
Plus I made a vanilla pound cake this afternoon. I haven’t made one in a loooooooooooooooooong time. It appears to be perfection however. So pound cake, strawberries (fresh frozen from da freezer) and 'niller ice cream for dessert.
I went to the girly doctor yesterday morning. She sent me straight across the street to the hospital. One surgery down and one to go. The one yesterday was to stop the bleeding (yay). The next one will be in the city instead of the local horsepistol.
The funny part was when the admissions clerk was wheeling me to my room with my male friend , who like me, is old enough for an AARP card, she asked if this was our “first”. It was like. “I know I’m fat lady and the girly doc sent me over, but you only asked my birthdate three times while admitting me.”
