Individual analysts were told to flag mentions of Trump by document and page number by logging them in an Excel spreadsheet, then they’d hand in their spreadsheet at the end of their (sometimes 24 or even 48-hour) shift. But it’s important to note that the agents were not told to flag Trump until later in a process that began mid-March.
The thing is, there is a spreadsheet that flags every mention of Trump they found in the files. This spreadsheet exists. Well over 1000 people know of its existence. In addition:
…the files were stored on a shared drive that anyone in the division could access. Normally, access is only granted to those working on a project, but because of the hurried nature of the exercise, the usual permission restrictions were not in place.
So, the number of people who had access to the files is huge.
It seems Trump is so entangled with this mess that it might bring him down. I hope so.

Weirdly, MTG is adamant about all the files being released. I wonder if she thinks it will somehow exonerate him. Or is she just confident in Bondi’s ability to scrub trump out before release? I also wonder how they vetted all those FBI agents they brought in to look for trump? If the number of personnel they brought in is accurate, there have to be a few traitorous libs in there willing to divulge.

My question here is why would adjourning to September affect being lectured on transparency. It seems to me it would just give one more aspect to lecture on – they went on vacation to avoid dealing with it. Usually I do not go for saying that the Republicans are stupid, but I am having difficulty seeing the smarts here.
Perhaps they are hoping there will be news in September so significant it drowns out Epstein. Greenland invasion? I don’t think even that would do it. It would take a bigger war than that.

My theory right now is that it’s not an attempt to make it go away. It’s an attempt to buy time to strategize on a way to deal with it. I imagine that’s harder to do when people are actively hounding you to do something. Calling a recess gives you a bit of breathing room.
Again I’m really doubtful there could be something really damaging to Trump in these DoJ files, that’s been sitting there all these years without any hint of it leaking.
But Trump and the GOP are really trying hard to convince me otherwise.
The Democrats need ride this horse as far as it will go. It is nothing but win for them. This the only time since Trump entered presidential politics that his base has shown the slightest hint of turning against him. This is not the NYT opinion pages, or political Twitter this is the actual Maga faithful that are being riled by this.
Also regardless of Trumps involvement the Epstein scandal was a massive travesty. Even if some Democrats and Democratic supporters were caught up in it, its only a good thing for details to come to light.
I think that she may be trying to position herself as MAGA leader after Trump. She doesn’t criticize him, but she holds her ground on this. It’s also possible that she nutty enough to believe all the conspiracy theories.
DOJ wants to interview Maxwell. That means, gosh darn it, they can’t release anything while it’s “under investigation.” For more on this, see Trump’s tax records.
Many people were involved with illegal activities around Epstein. So many underaged victims. Maxwell was the only person to serve time for it, when there should have been many more. It’s absolutely a travesty.
You are absolutely correct. What MAGA keeps missing is that Trump’s secretary of labor was the prosecutor who gave Epstein his sweetheart deal. The youtube channel Legal Eagle has a good summary of all the travesties with Epstein.
It’s not a secret cabal of Democrats trafficking children from the basement of a DC Pizzeria, it’s just gross rich elites of all political stripes doing whatever they want to little people.

Hell, when Acosta resigned during the former administration, it was because of the Epstein stuff. At the time, it was based on a push from Democrats.
Seems so weird that much of it seems to be coming from the other side now.
MAGA also seems to miss the fact that Epstein died in prison during Trump’s first term. So he would seem to be the obvious suspect if you believe Epstein was murdered.
After trump’s gone, there will be no MAGA. It’s his nebulous invention. It’s about as real as ANTIFA. It will be fun, if trump ever dies, to see all those who think they’re leaders try to define MAGA.
They blamed the Clintons though, naturally, because MAGA.
I don’t know that she knows that and I suspect there will be some kind of rump MAGA movement after Trump. I’d love to see this Epstein issue create a fracture in the movement, like when cults split up and one nut takes some of the members off into the woods to start an even nuttier movement.
