I’ve mentioned to a couple of people in chat that I’ll be back in the town from the 28th Dec to 8th Jan……I just couldn’t stand the thought of spending new year here in Manchester not freezing my nuts off…
Anyway, I’ll have no work to do and loads of free time, so does anyone fancy a get together? I know that people tend to have lots of other commitments at that time of year, so I thought just a time and a bar downtown would be the best thing, which will probably mean that only those living reasonably locally will be likely to attend, although of course anybody and everybody are welcome!
So, any thoughts or ideas, times, dates, places for the first dopefest of the real new millenium?
How about Alumni on State/Division…not everyones cup of tea I suppose;)
For me, anywhere within a couple of miles of downtown is fine and as for dates, how about 4th/5th/6th? All good for me.
I hope I don’t have to bump this for two months, then play invent-a-friend…

My company closes down the entire week between Xmas and New Year’s, so if there’s an early ChiDopeFest or MiniChiDopeFest that week, I’m there. January 6th sounds great as well, and the 5th would be ok too. Hell, how about a NYE ChiDope bash?

I would definitely be up for a NYE ChiDope - the family members I usually hang out with in NYE will be in Florida. Two DopeFests in one week would be wonderful. And I’ll just have to drink champagne on NYE

I’ll be around for sure. Plus, I have to meet a bunch of you people ASAP. The Mashed Potato Club is one of my faves around downtown, but I’m up for anywhere. Don’t know what kind of places you all dig for these gatherings, but MPC had half-price martinis on Thursday. 
I’m in. mmmmm…martinis are a good thing and half price is great. question: Is this half off a $8.00 martini like at green Dolphin Street?
Oh, hell no. It’s $6.50 for the SMALL, $9.50 for the big’uns, I think. But well worth it.
I’m still making my holiday travel plans, but yes, I think I could be up for something on the 5th or 6th of January.
That weekend (Jan 5/6) should be good for me, too.

P.S. I live at Ashland and Division, and have two comfy couches up for grabs for Dopers who cannot drive home after the festivities, if that changes the mind of you suburbanites.
