Hello, FS.
I think you’re probably right, but I’d be concerned that he might fake-claim, regardless of his alignment.
Sorry about dropping out of the game like that Malahoth. I regret asking for Meeko to be subbed, I let my irritation with him get the better of me.
Hey there. Didn’t realize a forbidden thread had already been created…but here I am, finally!
Quoth Meeko:
After he’s more or less proved himself? I think he’s getting a bit confused. He more or less proved himself in Crimson Glyph and Lost, but here he’s no more proven than anyone else in the game.
And welcome, Freudian!
I apologize that I was unable to kill Meeko before my untimely demise.
Obviously someone wants Meeko still alive
Can I be spoiled, Mahaloth?
Were you the vig?
No spoilers in this thread, please.
I apologize. My comment was only meant in jest…as should be apparent from my interactions before.
Oops, sorry.
Actually, it’s ok. SpecialEd was an ordinary townsperson, which was revealed in game…he had no powers, just like you.
This is one reason why it’s bad policy to answer rules questions in the game thread.
If moderators want to avoid handshaking then they should have open rules sets. Or least make public any repeated PM content. Otherwise you’re forced to engage in increasing absurd post restrictions. (I am biased about this–I probably dislike post restrictions as much as ped dislikes handshaking.)
I’ve added you insight to the wiki, since it also happened in Undying War. And there was talk before that game to update wiki pages :).
I agree with you, Pleonast. I like the way you did it in SS Insipid – pretty much derail that sort of silliness right at the start.
Thanks. I wish more designers would write open-rules Mafia games. While closed rules can be fun, I get tired of playing them exclusively (since I seem to be the only moderator running open games these days).
Do you not like the Weird Wild West game?
Too early to tell.
I don’t have anything against closed-rules games. They are fun. I play in them all the time. I would’ve been in this one if I had seen the thread a little earlier. I just wish more moderators would run open-rules games.
Meeko? He’s the reason to avoid answering questions?
I’ve never had more than one question at a time before…two, maybe.
Not Meeko in particular, but players who’ve shown similar behaviors before. For example: players spamming questions, players asking leading questions, players asking questions they know the mod won’t answer, players accidentally revealing info in questions.
Usually it’s not a problem, but I’d rather the players play against the other players instead of the mod. Public questions can turn the moderator into a participant in the thread, rather than an observer. By forcing all questions through PMs, it keeps the thread more clean. Most questions can be answered privately, and the ones that are publicly answered are detached from any particular player.
The game that NAF and I want to run on the Dope (not the Malazan one, which we’ll probably run on Idle’s board) is an open setup.
However, it’s also Gastard. But the setup is open. You might enjoy it and you’re welcome to play. We’ll probably start it sometime near the end of Weird Wild West. It’ll be a fast moving game, probably using a 2/1 cycle, or at the most a 3/1 cycle. It is capped at 15 players, and works best with that number, though, if there are less, accomodations can be made to the setup.
