This is kinda obvious. Meeko claimed to be vanilla, so he wouldn’t be lying if he says he wasn’t roleblocked. In fact, if he realized that it makes him sound like he has a power role, but he doesn’t, that is really good play. Of course, it would work better if there weren’t three claims already.
Meeko, Special Ed is dead. He has been confirmed post-mortem as Town. From what I know of Mafia, post-death IDs are the one piece of information you can be confident won’t be a lie.
Why does Meeko think I still might be Scum?
Because you were mean to him.
He’s got that right.
I DID recognize him for the player he is, and I knew he was too much of a threat for Town. Only, honestly, I didn’t really think he was Scum anymore than anyone else. If I thought he was Scum, I would have left him alive, because I’m sure he would have slipped sooner or later, and probably taken a teammate or two with him.
No, I thought he was probably Town, but still a threat to my team, which…he seemed to have forgotten, was Town.
Yeah, unfortunately, I got the heaviest dose of Meeko in his first game. We were a 2 person masonry. I welcomed death in that game.
Why hasn’t anyone in game mentioned that I’m dead and Town, so suspecting me is foolish and screams of self defense and skimming?
Meeko has an advantage. He plays so anti-Town when he is Town that you can’t possibly tell if he’s Scum. And people don’t want to vote for him for being anti-Town, so he can skate through the game.
The only advantage I would see is that if he’s Scum, he’s sure to mess it up for his scum buddies sooner or later.
PLus, they’ll have to be listening to him in the Scum thread :smack:
This is precisely why anti-Town behavior must be lynched.
I tried.
Yes, I rather thought Meeko would be lynched on Day One this time.
Wow, totally dead afternoon.
Um, no, it created a tie between oredigger and mentalguy. If MHaye unvotes and switches to Joey, it will create a new tie. Wonder if he’ll figure that out in time.
**I need a sub.
Anyone want in? Specialed perhaps?**
Hm, I’m not a fan of this no info until the next morning situation - it makes the days seem doubly long and the curiosity is bound to kill me!
Without delving into spoilers, can anyone tell me what’s up with the delayed info reveal? I think someone ingame speculated about power roles that could use their power after death but I can’t piece together how the delayed info to town ties into that…
I think this is mainly a way to enforce the “no strategy talk at night” rule - you don’t have any new information at sundown anyway, so you might as well wait until Morning’s reveal.
It’s actually a rather clever way of encouraging no strategy at Night–it doesn’t force the players to not talk strategy (i.e., no post restriction), but gives them nothing new to go on. Sounds like just the mechanism I like. I’ll definitely consider using it my future games.
Polyperchon, I’ve used delayed reveals in some of my games. It’s an anti-Town mechanism, but it lets characters be “resurrected” without confirming them. This is useful a recruitment mechanism. It also allows the existence of a pro-Town “Coroner” role, who can get the results early.
It DOES limit the amount of information town power roles have to make their night action decisions.
I can join if you want, Mahaloth. Though I’ve been skimming the last Day so I’ll pass for someone else who wants to play a lot ;).
Don’t like it? I rather like it, actually. I think it’s more realistic and it might just have more to do with the game than you realize.
OK. I’ll PM you your role. PM me back when you get it. You are replace Ro0sh, by the way, who sadly is unable to continue the game.
Quoth AllWalker:
This is a bit beyond what I’m comfortable posting in the main thread, but my vote-analysis program is open source, and anyone’s welcome to adapt it and use it in any game they want.
