I think he was joking.
Yeah, don’t post it.
I think so, too.
Note to Meeko: by far your biggest problem in this game is that you insist on thinking that people who are nice to you are Town, and people who are not nice to you are scum. You just voted against a claimed investigator, whose claim has not been disputed, on the basis that he posted the results of his investigation of someone who you like. This is very anti-Town play, as it makes you far too easy to manipulate.
Remember, the roles in these games are randomly assigned. Your knowledge of someone’s play style can give you some insight into whether he or she is acting similarly to how they’ve acted in the past in town or scum roles, but it CANNOT tell you whether they are on your side.
What, no comment here on storyteller’s role claim? I’m spoiled, so I won’t say anything on the subject, but I would have expected everyone else to talk about it: A mid-Day confession is pretty rare in these games, and I certainly never expected it.
I can’t begin to guess what’s going on, but this is hilarious:
Isn’t that always the case in times like this? But the devil’s in that last 5%.
OK, I’m wondering about the bomb theory. Does a bomber typically take out (1) everyone who votes for him or (2) a random person who votes for him? 1 seems way overpowered.
What is a Jester?
It sounds like a Jester is a third-party player who wins if he is lynched.
A Jester is a player that wants to be lynched.
Typically, if a Jester gets lynched, he wins the game. In the case of an exclusive win, it’s Bastard for the moderator not to inform the players of this fact.
Frequently a Jester has to get lynched in a limited time (first Day, first 2 Days, first 3 Days).
There are other variations as well. I’ve seen Jester/Survivors (i.e. lynched Day 1 or survive to the end to win). And then Ped ran a Jester scum who would recruit upon being lynched.
But Jester is always a character that wants to get lynched.
1 would be overpowered. And Bastard. And impossible to balance. And I don’t think it’s ever been done.
As far as 2, usually the bomb gets to choose. Typically it’s someone who voted the bomb, but not always. Also sometimes the bomb gets to choose multiple targets (see stanislaus in the Undying War game on Idle’s board).
Meeko really needs to get over his uncertainty on storyteller. Either he’s telling the truth, in which case he’s Scum, and should be lynched because he’s Scum, or he’s lying, and needs to be lynched because he’s a liar. Granted, neither possibility really makes much sense, but this is one of those “eliminate the impossible” scenarios Sherlock Holmes was fond of talking about.
Now, Town should be considering questions like “what if he’s a bomb”, so it makes some sense to keep the power roles away from the voting. And it might be reasonable to go after someone else instead and leave him for the Vig, for similar reasons. But no matter how you slice it, storyteller has to die.
Jester is a new variation for me; interesting. It can’t be what’s going on here, though; the accusation by cucuy would be too much of a coincidence, wouldn’t it?
Does NAT think I’m going to answer questions about alleged roles?
Oh, and I agree with Chronos. And I think the lynch is much better than pushing it off onto the vig, bomb or no bomb. But I don’t think he’s a bomb. If he were, there is very little reason for him to out himself. Let people vote for him (even have his teammates push it along just a little to attract in all the power roles), and boom! Easy peasy.
So my guess (probably completely wrong; I usually am) is that he can survive vig hits, but not lynches – he hoped the reveal would make people worry enough about his motivations not to actually risk lynching him. If this is the case, NAF put a major ding in story’s plans with his claim of a failed hit (whether or not it’s true), because that would push people back towards the lynch and away from letting Boozahol take care of it.
Prostitute isn’t an alleged role; it’s the known-from-Death role that you revealed MentalGuy to have. You already told Town that a prostitute exists; did you intend to tell them what she does?
No boom! Well, except the pots. I agree with Scuba’s applause, that was nicely done.
Y’know, it’s funny. I’m spoiled; I already know what everyone is. But I still find myself eagerly awaiting the Dawn posts to see the big reveal.
Normal, no boom today. Boom tomorrow. What? There’s always a boom tomorrow.
Boom.
The possibility there might be some sort of delayed reaction is why I didn’t wave my hands and go “woo, I was right!” (At least not yet.) I never trust the mods not to make me feel stupid.
And kudos for Ivanova. Ivanova is God.
Oi, it looks like this is the second game in a row where I get taken out by a lynch bomb!
My guess on the why: I was trying to shake all claims to see which one was the most likely to be false, I got killed because it it reinforces the suspicion that one must be false and get town to lynch a power role.
Or the same reason as last game, I was just being too analytical for my own good - but at least I was vanilla this time. If the scum thought me a possible power role than, it would even stronger suggest one of the current claims is false.
Also if this was a bomb, then we had another successful block last Night! Go town! :D.
Oops, looks like I fell for Storyteller’s head spinner as well (unless the bomb was a general Crimson Thorns power). It still throws doubt why they didn’t kill any claimed power roles or it might mean I was vigged and scum were blocked, but I doubt that.
Not sure why Oredigger blocked NAF, it could have screwed up MHaye watching him to check if he really didn’t do something at Night.
Casts doubt on all the power roles to leave all of them alive – risky, though.
