Well, my plan was to get there about a quarter till 7 but the above-mentioned blowout of one of my rear tires prevented that from happening. (Not only did I have the flat - the first ever on this car- I didn’t know I didn’t have a lug wrench. Luckily a couple of passers-by were kind enough to help us and get us on our way, and we arrived at Dave and Buster’s at about 8:20 tonight.)
Despite my little set-back, Diane and I had a wonderful time with all of you, and we are looking forward to seeing y’all again sometime soon. Maybe for the holidays?
Our little get-together was special in that everyone who said they would attend, actually showed up! There were 10 of us , and a great time was had by all. Major thanks to mouthbreather for all of his good efforts in getting this shindig organized!
Tonight was also special to me in that I genuinely liked everyone I met, and they are all people that I would very much love to see again. Do y’all know how rare that is??? Sometimes in a gathering such as this, you may find a person or two that you just cannot “connect” with, but this was not the case tonight. I had the “warm fuzzies” from the moment Archergal gave me a hug, and I have them still even now.
Speaking of Archergal, she was our photographer tonight, and will have pictures of our little party at some point and will post the link here, I hope.
So, mouthbreather, gooti, Archergal, Robert, GMRyujin, Morelin, slowmovingvehicle, and Labdad: Thank you all for a wonderful evening. I can’t remember when I have enjoyed myself more.
Quasi, I had a great time too! Me and Labdad were yakking away so much I didn’t get too much of a chance to talk to you and Diane more. Next time I hope we can visit more!

Archergal, I think you’re the official Georgia Doper Photographer from now on. Thanks for getting the photos up so quick. And Robert, my fellow retail slave, who had to be at work today at 8:00, I hope you made it through the day. I did, but it’s beginning to catch up to me.
Archergal, e-mail me with your mailing address and I’ll lend you my copy of Night Watch. You’re the only other Pratchett fan I know, and I’m dying to discuss it with someone else. Like I said last night, I think it’s pretty substantially different from the rest of his oeuvre.
Guys, as part of Labdad’s and my evil plan to lure you all inside the Perimeter, let me throw out that Manuel’s has a little back room, about two tables, that is just perfect for parties the size of ours. If anyone’s interested in doing this again soon, and including Earl Snake-Hips Tucker, Terrorcotta, and everyone else who couldn’t make it last night, I’ll volunteer to do the legwork - give poor **mouthbreather ** a chance to build up his alcohol tolerance again. I think someone on the last thread suggested sometime around the holidays.
Another suggestion - we keep this or another thread active, just so we can all keep in touch.
Gonna keep it short, except to wholeheartedly agree with Quasimodem that you were all great people to spend the evening with.
Well, if I hadn’t had that coffee at the meal, the pictures probably wouldn’t have got put up till today.
Robert made it to work today, but he’s pretty pooped tonight. smv, I hope you and he can get to bed early tonight and get some rest!
Manuel’s would be a good venue for another gathering! That back room gets used a lot by small groups, I think. Dunno if there’s a fee or anything involved though…

Well, Archergal, I’m flattered that you hope Robert and I can get to bed soon, but I’m a little insulted that you seem to think that we’d only get a good night’s sleep…
Does anyone know if the Tavern is accessible with MARTA? I would have liked to have had more than the one beer I drank last night, but I don’t like to have too much “on board” when driving in unfamiliar territory.
