It will be great to see you again, torie, but you’ll need to wear a headscarf to match your t-shirt, so that I will know it’s really you, okay?
As an update, I am working on getting closer to metro-Atlanta. Allatoona being one option and Lake Lanier being another.
It would help a lot if I could get an idea of the logistics of this next little get-together. For instance, do y’all wanna bring kids? If so, we will need to have it where the little ones will not be bored. Do y’all wanna bring coolers so that we can have beers, etc.? How about entertainment? I understand Michael Jackson’s realy cheap right now… (Sorry! )
How far do y’all wanna travel? For me, as long as it is within the Southeast, I’m fine, but it might not be fine for everyone. I used “Southeast” in the title of the thread because I know we have some folks in the Carolinas, Florida, Alabama, etc. who may or may not be able to make it depending on distance.
Optimal location would be someone’s land that’s not to hard to get to or out of and who wouldn’t mind us being there as long as we cleaned up afterward, and that is what I am working toward, but, as I said, I can’t guarantee such a place so we may have to pay a small fee if we have it at a park.
Also, what if some of us need to spend the night? Y’all prepared to do that if I can find a decent deal? We might could picnic during the day, then retire to the motel at night. Or we could just do a day-time type of thing and let everyone who attends worrry about their own accomodations.
It might be best to set date first, and we’ve discussed “late August”. I’m gonna say the 28th. Anyone want to vote for another one? After we get a date settled we’ll go for location and then we’ll try to “lock in” the attendees, if that’s okay with everyone.
Let’s talk. We have a little time to prepare and this could be really nice, but it may take the efforts of more than just a couple of us to make it a success.
