I was expecting to find a thread on this today, and am surprised that there isn’t one. I just wanted to chime in and say that I thought the young woman from *Ugly Betty * gave the sweetest acceptance speech I’ve seen in a long time- she was obviously rattled and flabbergasted to find that she won, but she pulled it together and remained composed enough to remember to thank everyone, and did so rather eloquently, given the circumstances. Contrast that with Forrest Whitaker, who "duhh’"ed his way through his speech.
And I’m sure the NBC execs were having conniptions when Sasha Baron Cohen accepted his award. He created quite a visual, with his description of his co-star.
