Yes it was a truly great time. Of course there was the Ninja Turtles (yes I know not really anime) and in addition you had
*The various Voltron Incarnations
Sabre Rider. That had the greatest theme…ever
*Thunder Cats
These were my favs, and as a young kid I loved these shows. Others?
Seriously, the cartoons they have for kids these days. I think I still have the recordings somewhere, when I have kids, I know what they will be watching.
Action cartoons or only anime? Cuz if Ninja Turtles count I would put a vote in for He-Man, which I’ve recently gotten the DVDs for and have been re-watching, and they are great.
“Anime” is short for the English word “animation”, and only means animated movies or TV programs. If it’s live action, then it’s not anime. (And “anime cartoons” is redundant – just say “anime” or “Japanese cartoons”).
I never understood where the reloads were stored. I seem to remember that the missiles were (at least) as deep as A-A’s chest. And she could keep firing and firing…
There was a whole raft of Saturday morning cartoons I loved. (Or in some cases in Australia the ABC had a half hour slot beforeth e news which often had ‘kids’ shows.)
Transformers (the original series - none of this Beast Wars, etc, etc)
Robotech
Mask
Star Blazers
Voltron
He-Man
Thundercats
Silverhawks
and of course - Danger Mouse!!
& Even though it’s a Disney one I for some reason really enjoyed the Gummi Bears
I was getting a bit past cartoons by the time the Turtles hit.
I found a few years ago Starblazers on DVD and I’m sorry to say was very underwhelemed with it upon rewatching just one episode as an adult.
I loved Robotech. I had the hardest time watching it through. There was the original part where the earth got blown up in the end… I saw that through. Then there were two other seasons or parts or whatever and whenever I got started watching them I’d wind up on vacation for a week and miss too much to keep watching. I don`t remember now why I only watched it during the summer. If netflicks had them I’d watch them in a second, but I don’t want to buy them.
