I got all of my postcards off in the mail this morning. The woman at the post office was crabby and did not let me look through the available stamps :mad: , so just silly stamps with flowers and ‘special olympics’ stamps for you overseas folks. Hopefully all the cards arrive in a reasonable amount of time
I have an idea that came to me last night…
When everyone get their cards, if you can scan them (just the pics, not the writing), make a online “album” of all the postcards you receive, that way everyone can see pics from all over.
Sorry guys but I’ve been away but I promise I’ll have all my postcards sorted for Friday. And also I apologise for my cheesy handdrawn postcards, they started out as a good idea so please forgive me when you look in your mailbox and go huh?
Oh also my postcode is IP25 6TX, not 1P25 6TX but it shouldn’t matter.
All 61 of mine are addressed and waiting for me to wander to the post office tomorrow to buy 52 US 23¢ stamps, 2 Canadian-bound 50¢ stamps, and 7 Europe- / Asia-bound 70¢ stamps. There will be strange looks from all round, I imagine.
Woohoo. I got all my postcards written now. Those of you on my list are each getting a ‘fun’ fact about Sweden. I was running out of unique facts towards the end though, so had to look some up online. Now I’m off to the post office to see if it’s still open. All of you on list 1 can now look forward to getting your Swedish postcards (which have been sent from the UK).
Mine went out yesterday. Since I mailed them from a college town, the post office person was understanding about the need for foreign postage. No cool stamps, though.
No stamps for the first few I sent out. The woman at the post office punched it into the postage machine and started putting stickers on them before I realized what she was doing. And the only postcard stamps they had were the boring George headshots. And I only have 3 versions of the cards from here, so if very many people scan them in, it will get very repetitive.
Bambi Hassenpfeffer, I have 3 people on my list that take the 50 cent stamps. Sinshine is in BC, but it isn’t marked with Canada on the list.

Also, I don’t leave home if I don’t have to, ( the joys of being a stay at home mom, 20 miles from the nearest town that has post cards ) so I haven’t gotten any of mine sent out yet.
Think of it as not getting all the post cards at once. You could get happy mail at any time.

Was thinkin about tacking them all up on the wall in the office. All done with the first list, have my request into Misty for a second list. Most of my postcards are the same. Hoping the card I’m sending is original and not the same idea that other Florida people are sending out.
This is really nice getting something in the mail that isn’t a bill or a company that wants me to have their credit card.
I just finished mailing out the last of the big list. What little wit I have was milked dry after the first card, so if you received a good one then it must of been that first one. Kindly disregard the psychobabble on most of them.
Mine are being dropped in the mail tomorrow. Most of them bear the same message; certain of them had more written, depending on how I felt at the time. 61 cards is a lot to write out.
Oh, and fishcheer15, I wrote mine to you auf Deutsch, because I need the practice – no one I know locally is a German speaker, and it’s been 9 years since I took a German class. Let me know how I did, if you don’t mind.
