I thought the rules are set at the start of each session, and remain in place thru that session.
You think Johnson will hold power by causing a long-term govt shutdown? I assume at some point, the non-FC side will then kick him to the curb. They also have the power to do so…
There really isn’t a non-fc side. Look at who just got the job.
Do folks really think all House members on the Repub side are looking forward to an extended govt shutdown? They have a lot of supporters on that payroll. Maybe they truly do want to watch things burn.

That dude is my age?? I looked at a picture of him and thought, “How could that old guy be the same age as me??” Then I realized that how old I think I am, and how old I actually am, is off by about 15 years. Always a kick in the gut to be reminded what 48-year-olds look like.
The gray hair doesn’t help. Mine was that color at 28. If he had a head of dark hair and lost the glasses for contact lenses he’d look much younger. Bowties are another marker that screams “I’m a fogey at heart” regardless of one’s actual age.
I’m 46 and I certainly don’t look nearly as old as that guy.
Then again, I am not cosplaying as Orville Redenbacher.
