The Great Phi Theory.

OH DEAR GOD LET IT DIE!!!

What fresh hell is this?

Kill it! Kill it! KILL IT!

Looking back, my conduct in this thread was appallingly unprofessional. I did not realise this at the time due to some rather nasty feedback from a prototype psycho-etheric-field scanner. Thus, instead of posting in a manner befitting a Scientist, I ranted and yelled.

Further, due to flaws in the scanner I was using at the time, my readings far from comprehensive. In retrospect, I wonder whether Hiryuu had a fully actuallized Meta-Conscious mind. At the time of the original debate, I was corresponding with an individual I believed to be a fellow Scientist. However, a later model scanner revealed that this individual was not in fact an Etheric Scientist. They had only partially actuallized their MCM, and were what is colloquially referred to as a “Hedge Wizard”.

I believe that the same is true of Hiryuu. However, I am able to scan individuals only within travel distance or those who are currently connected to the SDMB. Since Hiryuu no longer frequents the SDMB, I am unable to scan him for further data.

In the 1960s, scientists will rely on Electronic Calculating Machines for complex mathematics like long division.

When come back, bring phi.

Let it die? Hell no, I’m still waiting for my questions to be answered…

::sigh::

Then they are waiting for you to die.

I have become Death, Stealer of Phi.

Meta

Wow, what possible reason could there have been to drag this storied thread back to the fore? I remember reading this way back, in the long-long-ago, before I registered and started regularly reading. After reading a few scraps of it I thought to myself, “what does Tars see in this board, why is trying to drag me over here, and what the ever-loving heck is phi?”

Meta

What, you mean electrons aren’t particles? Neutrons aren’t particles? But protons are?!

Um … so, what strange nonstandard definition of “particles” are you using? And is your definition used by any theoretical framework that has any predictive power at all?

Methinks it’s time for Meta to get a warning. This:

is a personal insult, so not tolerated on GD. (Read it backwards)

“Protons are the only particle”, Is predictive power.

So you’re saying that every particle in the universe is actually a proton, and that those particles that “seem” to behave like electrons or neutrons (e.g. different mass than a proton, different charge than a proton, etc.) are, in fact, protons in disguise?

Okay … but I still don’t see any predictive power to that statement. Is there any way to “see through” this disguise? How do electrons-that-are-actually-protons behave differently from electrons-that-really-are-electrons?

God in heaven! What is this Phiday the 13th, Part II?

Meta whatever nonsense you’re spouting, it certainly doesn’t belong in this thread. Start a new one so that everyone can enjoy your whackalicious goodness.

Mods, pursuant to the policy of not reviving long-dead trainwrecks and given that whatever Meta is talking about, it appears to have nothing to do with the OP, is there any chance of chaining Jason here up once and for all and making it walk off the end of the page into the briny deep?

Gamera is friend to children

CITE ?

Maybe he meant “Gamma ray is friend to all children”…

Gamma ray is really neat, it is made of photon meat, we’re absorbing gamma ray!
