Today, I learned two things:
1 - The Australian Post rocks. I got a card from Penultimate Thule, showing a grain silo painted with what looks like a kingfisher taking a plunge.
2 - I had forgotten to collect the mail yesterday.

As the late Ron P. would say, wait, there’s more! Another card of Swiss origin from @Die_Capacitrix, this one of the St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva with a missive mentioning how hard it is to get a good milkshake in that area of the world. Thank you!
@EinsteinsHund Ludo Fore Putavimus (a copy of their oversized bookmark).
I have purchased apparel form them, and do consider it to be high quality, but I’m not trying to spam or anything. Just looking through their website is a lot of fun.
I received a postcard today from @The_Butterfly_s_Ghost with a Virginia Woolf quote and a clever illustration.
It also had a very cool stamp celebrating 500 years of Annaberg Folk Festival (according to Google and Google Translate). And a beautiful cancelation mark of a heart being hugged by two arms and “Together against Corona” (again according to Google Translate). I love those arms hugging the heart! Thanks, The Butterfly’s Ghost!
I have now received a full complement of cards. One of the ones I sent seems to be slow or possibly it has gone astray.
As does one that I sent to Australia…
Ah, mine too is going to Australia. I wonder if there is only one mail boat per month from the US or some such?
Thanks, @JaneDoe42 ! I’ll look into it, looks like fun.
Yesterday I got three postcards: one each from Die_Capacitrix (showing a handsome old-time Swiss steamship), The_Butterfly_s_Ghost (a bold graphic with Thomas Hobbes’s timeless dictum, “Knowledge is power”) and ToadBuddy (a photomontage of sights to see around Hamilton, Ontario). Many thanks to all!
I just got back from a short vacation to find two (2!) cards from @Die_Capacitrix. I indirectly learned about Swiss geography and now I envy the Swiss train system as well. Thanks so much!
Got two cards yesterday from @JoseB! One is of the Roman Colosseum and the other is of a beautiful scene from Santander, a town in northern Spain. Thank you!
Today I got a lovely card from @The_Butterfly_s_Ghost. It has the Tolstoy quote “All the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.” Thank you so much!
Two from JoseB. One of Petra and the other from the Spanish Geographical Institute. Tres kewl!
Thanks!
In today’s post comes all the way from Seattle! Thank you @needscoffee
A shot of the International Fountain with the Space Needle in the background.
That’s one hell of a fountain.
The composition looks like a still from War of the Worlds.
Apparently the town is good for coffee, but didn’t you launch Starbucks on the world?
Glad it finally made it!
Hear, hear! Anyone who still has not gotten at least three postcards?
I’ve received 2 cards.
Please PM the person from whom you have not yet received a card - thanks.
Sometimes the mail gets lost or delayed for a very long time. If you PM me, I will send you a postcard to enjoy while waiting for your other one to arrive.
I’m still waiting on both my third card to be delivered and to receive one.
Canada Post has been very slow lately and I expect that that’s the reason why. From what I’ve read, the Australian postal service is much the same so I do hold out hope that my postcard will be delivered, eventually.
Patience is a singular virtue.
Arrived today from California is a postcard from St Charles IL featuring the Ekwabet statue beside the Fox River, courtesy of @Karen_Lingel including the same stamp used in the last exchange! Excellent.
Thank you.
That makes my three
