The Grid on TNT

I watched the premier last night. It seemed very complicated, but I liked it. It seems like we’re about two steps behind the terrorists, though, doesn’t it? And guessing wrong can mean the death of innocents.

I’m looking forward to further shows.

I didn’t like it. Too much breast-beating about the Muslim CIA agent and his problems. And the actress playing the British MI6 officer is annoying as hell.

We watched it. It was OK, hopefully will get better over the next few weeks that it’s on.

*ER’s * Nurse Hathaway is supposed to be from Texas but sounds like she’s from Jersey. Bobby from *the Practice * is supposed to be from New York but sounds like he’s from California. :dubious: Most annoying (other than really bad writing in spots) was the ad for next weekabout halfway through this episode. The hook was “the sexiest counter terrorists agents” or some other balderdash. DeHusband and I looked at each other and blinked. Sexy? Terrorism? Is this really the combination that they wanted to draw attention to?

But she was right about the NY Subway attack being a diversion.

Does sarin really kill that quickly? One whiff and that’s it? If so, would the other people in the hostel had enough time to realize something was wrong?

According to this site (sorry about the FoxNews link), sarin kills within 1 to 10 minutes of exposure. They did seem to die awfully quickly on the show, though.

I liked it, too. It was rather complicated, but I liked how they freeze-framed and gave us the name of each character.
I missed a little bit at the half-way mark - what was the conflict between Dylan McDermot and his wife?

I think the sarin in the NYC subways could be a double red herring. Maybe there will eventually be an attack, but they’re going to be pulled away to something else and then the terrorists will pull an attack in the subways after all.

I can’t think of James Remar as anyone else but Richard from “Sex & The City.” All I could think was that scene of Samantha catching him cheating on her. Kept freaking me out.

I liked that too. I hope they keep doing that, so we can keep track of who’s who.

She was married to his best friend, who was killed in the WTC on Sept. 11. He’d been in love with her, but out of respect for his friend hid his feelings. She later revealed that he’d been jealous of her husband, for getting to spend time with him. I think there’s some residual guilt there.

So they haven’t been married very long, right?
But in the very beginning, didn’t he say his best friend left behind “a wife and new baby”? That kid he was watching basketball with wasn’t a baby.
