Howdy from da cave! Actually I’ve been here a while. Grilled some burgers, did some oven fries (I used frozen fries, get over it) and we had pepperjack cheese burgers and fries. There was lettuce and mater for the burgers thus makin’ it all healthy.

I’ve been messin’ with my old laptop which I haven’t played with in a while. Matter of fact I’m makin’ my post usin’ it even. It works fine, just old and the screen is tiny. Still a fun thing to have.

Stopped and bought a slushie this afternoon. They had five flavors: blue raspberry, cherry, grape, lemon-line, and orange. I ordered raspberry. And the girl asked me if I meant blue raspberry or cherry.
Seriously? You couldn’t figure out that raspberry meant blue raspberry? And do a lot of people get confused and think cherry is sometimes called raspberry?
Not so happy: the whammed toe probably isn’t broken, but is turning interesting colors and wearing a shoe on that foot hurts. Since I do have my usual volunteer deal tomorrow (and did need to run a couple of errands, such as getting more printer paper, since we’re nearly out), this is not a good thing.

Hey everyone! We are enjoying a bit of a respite in New Mexico - it’s been in the 70s today and cloudy, with rain predicted. Some areas of ABQ have had rain today, but none so far where I am. The chances are pretty good for rain most of this week, which is a very good thing given the drought here. Thunder storms seem to be particularly spectacular in NM, btw.

I am happy to be off work, really happy. Irk was good this past weekend, I just did not get finished until a few hours ago. On top of the regular weekend kind of shows we had this one to make happen http://www.summerlandtour.net/ once again in a parking lot, in Houston, in July. All went well, I made the loud like Shipley’s makes the doughnuts and we loaded out all the gear with just a sprinkle of rain for the last few cases as they went into the truck. Tired, beat up and hurting but happy as a clam.

A pedestrian was struck on the interstate about 1.5 miles from my house almost 3 hours ago. I know this at this un-Ogly hour because the very loud news helicopter has been loitering over the scene for the past 10-15 mins.

… and I thought the gummint was bad on paperwork, tho in a way, I’m still working for the gummint… I had an email yesterday from the actual company I’m working for - it’s a contractor working for the contractor (who has actually trained me, etc) who is working for the state. Anyway, I sent them a metric buttload of paperwork last week, but apparently they need more. Not only do I have to fill it out for me and my sweetie, I have to forge his signature because it’s got to be mailed to the home office and my sweetie is in FL at the moment. Or I could have him print it out at his folks’ place and mail his docs himself.
It’s already unpleasant and and muggy out, and I have to mow the ditch. ick. I also need to spot clean the carpet and stencil some towels. Gonna be a busy day once I get caffeinated and in gear.
I have discovered that suddenly, I only need about 6 hours of sleep. Last night, I crashed around 9:30 and darn if I wasn’t wide away shortly before 4. Had **FCD **been home, I could probably have forced myself to stay up later, but I was nodding off and I surrendered to the fatigue. I’ll try to stay up later tonight.
Meanwhile, morning surfing needs to be surfed before I can start chores. Priorities, you know!

It is hot hot hot in the office today, I left the windows partially open last night in the hope that it would cool off a bit but it is still boiling in here. I’m sure it’s legally too hot to work since we don’t have aircon and the poor little fan is struggling to keep up. Luckily it was better at home last night and I did manage to get some sleep despite being woken up just after midnight when Shadow decided to bring home one of his little treasures. I chased him out twice with it but this morning when I got up, he’d left me two-thirds of a mouse on the stairs. How lucky am I?
