I read this morning that under a new law, I’m a Canadian citizen. I knew I memorized “O Canada” for a reason! I love Canada. I think my son will be relieved, as he’s been in the labyrinthine process of claiming Italian citizenship. Under the old law, my dad, born in the US, was a Canadian citizen, though I’m not sure he knew or cared.

It seems recent Canadian court ruling have vastly expanded the pool of people that can potentially apply for Canadian citizenship.
