The hillbilly family needs happy thoughts

My husband hillbilly king was suspended from his job last week, and found out this morning that he’s fired. It was a crappy job that he’s been slaving at for 19 years, but it was also our only source of income. He’ll be working part-time for a friend until he finds something more stable, so atleast we won’t be out on the streets.
What’s worse, is the loss of medical insurance. My husband is diabetic with a thyroid condition. My son is on mood altering meds for his autism, and I’ve just been diagnosed with a nuerlogical condition that will require experimenting with different meds.
Atleast now, my son will qualify for disability, because our income is no longer too high. :frowning:

/me sends happy thoughts your way

Try Tennessee State Government.

It is also crappy, even worse paying, but it will give you Health Insurance.

And we’re currently hiring, but not for long.

I work there.

Speaking of Tennessee, what about TennCare? How does that work? Seems to me we pay for it for people in your situation (or “sitchee-ayshun”)

I also meant to say, my sympathies are with you and I hope something works out soon!

Sending warm thoughts your way.

Aw, things are bound to look up!

Hope things look up for you soon.
It’s not easy being in that situation and if you need anybody to vent to on those not so bright days drop me a line.
E-mail or IM, I’m always about somewhere.

Yeah, what is UP with this week?
Three of my friends and now my wife have been laid off/downsized, etc. Oh, and my wife may or may not have a brain tumor–we’ll know when we get the results of the MRI.
[Airplane]Guess I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue![Airplane]

Thats really sucky though. :(

Best wishes, prayers and positive thoughts coming your way!

Much Love,

Cheri

Lots of love and lots of courage. We just came through an unemployment period that began three weeks after our second son was born. We’re still healing, but I think in the long run it was good for us. Our relationship that is. I think we’re stronger now. Keep your chin up!

Good thought are headed your way, Hillbilly. I hope things turn for the better very soon.

Ugly

go to

www.state.tn.us/personnel

for job info &, I believe, downloadable applications in Adobe. If you ain’t got Adobe, you can get the reader free on the Web. Move on this fast, because the forms take weeks to process, & the State hires for brief periods only.

Good Luck.

happy thoughts and prayers for your family and your health
and i hope your situation improves, but i know you’ll have the strength to see whatever happens through.

If you haven’t already, you might look into the possibility of getting COBRA coverage. It can be expensive, but it might be worth it to maintain coverage so that your preexisting conditions will continue to be covered in the future. A Consumer’s Guide to Getting and Keeping Health Insurance in Tennessee has information about your rights concerning health insurance portability.

Good luck with everything. Our family’s been in much the same situation before, and I know how stressful and nerve-wracking it is, but we’ve always come out of it better and stronger than before, and you have my sincere wish your family will too.

Hey, you’re that cool/hot woman! I remember you from your website.

Sorry to hear about your husband’s termination. It looks like you’ve got some good advice about services in Tennessee.

I hope the situation isn’t too tough for too long. Positive thoughts from the West Coast. And my mother lives in Fairfield Glade, TN. I’ll have her put a close to home good vibe out.

Hang in there!

Thanks, everybody for the tips and links, and the good thoughts.
We don’t qualify for Tenn Care because he got fired.
Hubby’s filling out an application for the state right now, thanks
Bosda!

If anybody wants to know why he got fired, you can email me. It’s incredibly silly.
