The Hollies song "Hold On" lyrics help

The Holies song “Hold On” from the album Distant Light. All the lyrics sites that I’ve looked at have this for the last two verses:

I was getting excited
One thing on mind
When she rushed out of the bedroom
Said “You`d better hide”

She slowed me my movements
He caught me by the door
What was left on me, baby
Was landing on the floor

But the first line of the last verse doesn’t make any sense. It should be some reference to the girl’s boyfriend or husband in order for the “He” of the next line to logically follow. I’ve listened to it dozens of times but I can’t figure out what that line really is. Maybe it has some British slang term for boyfriend/husband that I’m not familiar with? Can anyone help? (Also, I think the last line is “was lying in the floor”).

I always thought it was:

Too slowly my movements,
He came in by the door.
What was left of me baby
Was lying on the floor.

Yeah, listening to the remaster, it definitely sounds like “too slowly my movements.”

Ok, that makes a whole lot more sense than what’s on the lyric sites. Thanks.
