Turns out today’s crabber was already checked this month, so no one on the list. And it’s raining like crazy right now - my plants are happy!
Off to the post office shortly, plus a quick stop at the grocery store.

Be careful, I might have worse mushroom puns in spore for you.
Stem the flow, 'cuz I’m up to my gills in them already.
Happy Thorsday!
It’s a cloudy 73 degrees with a predicted high of 84.
ScareyBoo I had a mojito once and could barely finish it. I think it was the basil.
Drae I get dizzy just looking at them. When I stayed at the beach house last summer it had a wide curved staircase and even that made me dizzy to look at it. Weird I guess.
Obviously the cure would be to make myself walk up and down some until the squickiness goes away.
Sounds like fun Midget
April Sah-son was a very calm baby and didn’t react to a look of noises. His hearing was fine. Of course from day one he was around barking dogs.
I am so sleepy, I have to stop waking at 4am. I must be reverting back to infancy, I don’t sleep through the night anymore.
It’s a process. The staircase to the loft is 12 steps, clockwise. The staircase to the bell tower is 16 steps, counter-clockwise. Roomie and I both took the stairs very slowly and carefully when we moved in, but now I can motor down the steps from the tower without even thinking about it–though it is harder if I’m carrying a laundry basket, or a vacuum, or any number of other things. I’m much slower on the loft stairs, because my brain believes I’m going the wrong way. ![]()
Our trainer is enroute. We’re set up to meet with the crabber after all - she has 2 licenses, so she gets checked twice. Plus we’ll be shown the various places we need to check, and we’ll meet the guy we’re replacing.
Just back from the post office and a quick grocery stop. Waiting for the call, killing time. It’s been raining all morning so I got my rain jacket out, just in case. Oh what an exciting life!!
I hate you.
Please report back. I got this bad mental picture of some June Cleaver type with the typical church choir voice doing the Acid Queen. It ain’t pretty but its funny as Hell.
I saw a community version of Fiddler on the Roof where the Tevia was this Dolly Parton clone with histories worse fake beard and an almost falsetto voice. I had to leave or risk laughing out loud surrounded by her assorted family and friends.
FROM LAST WEEK
Seven or eight. More than that is just show. My entire setup is glass and when I can get them I use the old German “heritage” potatoes so the taste is pretty clean. I actually started adding liquid smoke and flat cola to make a sort of rye for non-family members. The smoke sort of warns the drinker “beyond this point there be dragons”.
lieu and swampykins
Give me a days warning and either or both of you are welcome. I’ll kill the fatted calk, stuff him with the fatted pig - stuffing him with the fatted lamb and smoke us up a killer mammalian version of a turduckin!
My apologies to all. From home my dial-up has been so slow I haven’t been able to visit the Dope and from work has just been too busy. Darn boss. I actually did productive things once and now he expects stuff like that all the time. Consider me once or twice a week for the near future.
So now everything you do will be on porpoise? ![]()
WIKI - my prayers and best to you and all.
She ain’t telling. She’s being shellfish.
I hope it is nothing, but I will keep on top of it and ask the pediatrician when we go for her 2 month check up about getting her hearing screened again.
It’s been foggy, hot, sticky and rainy for weeks. I expect to look in the mirror one day and see mold on my face.
Everything outside looks like a jungle.
Thank you family, from the bottom of my heart. I have been calling the hospital since 6:30 am, and while I know nurses are a hard working bunch it is now 8:40 am and I still have not heard back from my mom’s nurse. I called again at 8:30 and finally asked “Is she still alive?” which is a yes. My oldest daughter was texting with my step sister while simultaneously messaging me on fb. Step sister told Jess it’s time for everyone to come say goodbye, so I am half expecting them to come up.
Again, thank you. Taters I am a big lurker, and my heart goes out to you and your family. When we both get this done we should maybe get together and get our drunk on.
Cloudy skies and a chilly breeze today, a wonderful break. Still fighting the damned black spot on my (16) roses. I do my best to garden organically, but I am about ready to find some kind of chemical spray . . . damned fungus.
And again, thank you, to those I know well and those I don’t, it means everything to me to have a place where I can be open and honest about what is going on and how I am feeling without having to worry about hurting someone’s feelings or starting a heated argument.
A blessed day to everyone.
Now I’ve got Run Through the Jungle running through my head.
Almost done irk, it has been incredible slow.
The sun is coming out and my butterfly bush is busy,
yesterday it was full of butterflies.
I have to run to the store and then clean out my truck.
My heart goes out to you as well, kai. I am half afraid some family drama will start up at either the viewing or the funeral today and tomorrow. We haven’t heard a peep from the one step-sister since Mom died, and we know she’s pissed. She’s also the one who tried to obtain durable power of attorney a few months ago.
One of the worst parts for me is is that I can’t seem to get my husband moving on the paperwork issues. I keep explaining the importance of this and that I cannot do it for him because I don’t have any right to that.
With some more diligent internet searching I’ve found out what we can do about obtaining quicker access to the safety deposit box, but it’s a matter of getting my husband down to the court house to do this.
All of this is frustrating and draining.
Here’s hoping there’s no drama for either of us. My best to you and your family, kai. I hope your mother’s passing is peaceful.
Hey, it’ll be under water, right? just remember to bring a net so you can scoop up all those bluefish, weakfish, mackerel, and fluke when they float up. Then fire up a grill & celebrate National Mojito Day…! ![]()
you’re giving me a haddock

Blurf.
I can kind of agree with this. It has been hot and muggy and miserable all week, with one very short, very violent thunderstorm that did nothing but make it hotter and muggier and miserabler. The weather reports teased some rain in the forecast, but the maps show nothing headed our way.
I really, really hate summer.
Let’s beat then up and steal their lunch money…er, rain.
