swampy, I used to take my great niece and nephew to the zoo. Their favorites were the otters. The giggles were outrageous.

I don’t believe there are any peafowl left at the Little Rock Zoo. My veterinarian said that there was “black worm” disease and…Avian Flu? Fowl Fever? to be dealt with when I mentioned that I would like to keep them.
I did contact some folks nearby who keep them,and heard of one who would go by the neighbor’s house, look through the bathroom window, and stare at the Lady of the House as she bathed.
Flannery O’Conner kept white peafowl. The last I heard, their descendants were still a flock at her home.

Irk and class went fine. Got 10/10 on this week’s quiz (same as last week). We do have a test next Tuesday that covers the four chapters we’ve done so far. I think I have a solid grip on the material, but given that I have classmates who weren’t BORN yet last time I was a student, I’m still a little edgy about classroom stuff. The fact there’s some bug going around, and both DH and the professor for the class in question are having symptoms, doesn’t help. Especially since I work in retail and take public transit a lot. Yes, I’m taking multi-vitamins and trying to get a decent amount of sleep.

The dog woke me at 12:30 to go out, then I had to get up, then my alarm went off at 4am to tell me to take my pills, the the dog woke me at 5am.
It’s a dark 78 degrees outside with a projected high of 79 for the day.

Yes, I do like peacocks. I’d love to have some but I think I’d need a big piece of property to do that.
There will be NO plastic peacocks or any other kind of plastic birds in my yard thank you very much. There will be, at some point, a butterfly bush and some lavender. Lots of lavender.

flytrap my aunt and uncle who had the farm I spent lots of time at growin’ up had peafowl and guineas. The noise level around the place was phenomenal at times. I have no idea what their use was other than to be obnoxious.

One of those nights. Woke about an hour ago and just can’t get back down. I tried, but it was like being sent to bed for being bad. I’m not bad. I’m a very good girl.

Swampy, you’re right up there with hubby. He thinks he’s the only one in the world that poops. He had a colonoscopy last week and you’d think the world was coming to an end and he’d be in the bathroom. (All was well. He just has a family hx, so he has to have one every 5 years.)

The wind never stops. It snowed about an inch in October and that same snow blew around for the rest of the winter. The summers are hot and very dry, so after one cold windy winter and one hot dry windy summer I aged 10 years.

The only scandal I remember concerning people dressed up as animals was the great Pirate Parrot drug bust of the early 80s. I had a friend who was dating him for awhile, and she stopped seeing him about a month before we was arrested and fired.
That parrot was a jerk. We introduced the state Ducks Unlimited mascot at a Pirates game (Walter Fowl ----- please forgive me for that one) and he just would NOT pose for any pictures or anything with Walter.

The a/c is workin’ this mornin’. YAY! Other than that this has been a mornin’ of one little thing after another. Lots of silly questions. Lots of stoopid requests, most of which resulted in me sayin’ no I will not do that for you. You know what you need to do for that. [del]Minion[/del] Assistant says she sometimes wants to keep track of how many times a day I say those same words, but always loses count after the first fifty or so. She’s a hoot!
