The I Didn't See One So I Started One MMP

Yeah you are lol

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Blurf.

Morning, mumpers! It is finally a “not completely rained off day” over here for a change but to make up for it the builders are drilling this morning. What fun. Can I go home now?

Things will be DONE early today. I’m already showered and dressed, and I’ve got a load of shorts and jeans in the washer. Two or 3 bites of breakfast remain. I’ve got to leave in just under 3 hours for my dermatologist appt, and I want my laundry out on the line before I go. It’s my annual “check all the moles to make sure they’re not gonna kill me” checkup. After the last one, I’m not going to put this off.

Our first half cord+ of firewood was delivered and STACKED last evening. Two young guys in a pickup truck backed up next to our wood rack and the 4 of us unloaded the truck and stacked the wood. They’ll be back in a week or so with another load. **FCD **and I discussed it and we’re going to give them an extra $20 when they bring the rest. A cord of split hardwood delivered and stacked for $130 is *waaaaaaaaaay *below market price here. Actually, discussed is the wrong word. I said that they didn’t charge us enough and I wanted to give them more when then come back, and he said “I agree.”

I’m all for a good deal, but ya gotta be fair. Last year, we got a half cord for $75, and we had to pick it up, bring it home, and stack it ourselves. So this year, we’ll get a full cord for $150, delivered and stacked. That’s way more than fair!

On the way back from the Dr, I’ve got to get some pressure treated 2X4s so we can build another wood rack. I may stop at the Amish market for some corn, too. Then when I get home, assuming it doesn’t look like rain, I’m going to smoke some poke.

So, Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a very muggy 77 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 95 and late afternoon rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see. We did have a big tboomer last night around eight. Lots of cloud to ground lightnin’.

Today I get to hang around the local forty. I have appointments mornin’ and afternoon that shall keep me out of the orifice for a good part of the day. Rah. Tomorrow, however, I shall irk from da cave. YAY!

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

BLURF. We only have three more days to finish getting everything together for the accreditation visit next week. I am so over it. Ain’t nobody got time for that! Plus everything we are doing to prove we meet standards will be a waste as none of it will be useful afterwards.

TPTB just don’t seem to understand that our daily work is more than enough to keep everyone busy. Sales for the FY are over 1.1M already with two more months remaining. Someone (Me) has to pay all those bills. Our margin is on average 8%.

I still say some of the BS TPTB come up with is just busy work for someone else.

I must drag myself into the shower and head off to irk. Maybe I can cut out early today but probably not.

MOOOOMMMMMMM. Sounds like a great deal on firewood. There’s a lot of work in producing it. They must be doing a huge volume.

Blurf. Wish I could get up earlier. I keep setting my alarm but then going back to bed.

Maybe today I can accomplish one quarter of the things on yesterday’s to-do list. (Oops.)

Blurf. Seems like sleeping past 3:30 am is somehow upsetting my body, because it keeps waking me up at that time (as if 5am isn’t early enough).

swampy, a belated Happy Orbit Completion Day +1, as a ‘newbie’ here I perhaps don’t check in as often as I should and completely missed it.

Been ever so slow at irk, which has been good for my posting totals here but often boring…this job used to be interesting and challenging, but they took bits and pieces away from us and gave them to other offices over the years, and now it is less of a challenge. Oh well, coming up on 12 months to go, so I’ll manage.

FCM, I have a fireplace in my greatroom, to the best of my memory I have never had a fire in it since I bought the place in 1997. Probably a good thing, I’d have probably burned the house down.

Ah well, back to irking.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a cloudy 80 degrees and supposed to rain today.
We shall see.

I have no idea what I am doing today. There’s lots of stuff to do but it’s all piddly house stuff that needs to be done sometime but not right away.

Good luck at the doc FCM

BLURF

Can I haz sleep?

I think they’re just a couple of young guys who have no idea what they should be charging. Most sites I’ve checked not only charge more for the wood, but they tack on a delivery fee and a charge for stacking. Last time I bought a cord was maybe 4 years ago - the truck dumped it in a pile in the yard, and I spent several hours stacking it. That load cost me $150. So it’s worth that much to us to have help stacking it.

All went well with the skin doc. She wants me back in 6 months, and if all still looks good, we’ll drop to an annual check. Afterwards, I stopped at 84 Lumber and got some 2x4s for a second wood rack. Last stop was a local non-Amish farm where I got 5 years of corn, 3 big 'maters, and a big head of cabbage, all for $3!! Guess what we’ll have with our poke chops tonight!

I should get the smoker set up…

MMMOOOOMMMM kilded the MMP.

Well I ain’t goin’ in after it.
:dubious:

Didn’t kill it - just smoked it. As soon as my timer beeps, the chops will join the roasts in the smoker. Then I’ll go take the laundry off the lines. Oh, yeah, I know how to live it up!

C’mere, li’l MMP. Thatta baby. You’re still alive, aren’t you? choogy woogy.

The month end slam is out of the way now. Yay!

Sis, the pups and her sweetie decided to leave Texas a day early, so they’ll be here late Saturday evening. I told her to call when they hit Nashville so’s that I can come home from seeing a friend’s band at the Irish Pub.

I thought the purpose of a metal rack was too keep the wood off the ground & away from six-legged things, like termites. If so, doesn’t a 2x4 rack kind of defeat that purpose?

I hate to point out to you that today is the 30th of the month; the next month end is tomorrow!!! :smack:

Nah she just buried it under five years of corn

I believe it is to keep it dry and keep snakes out of it.
Choogie Woogie?
