I saw Harry Potter yesterday!!! It Rocked!!! My Nephew (who is autistic and doesn’t talk) said hi to me!! I don’t have to roll cigarettes anymore!!! My wedding dress was delivered today!!! I’m going to a party tonight!!! I can’t stop abusing exclaimation points!!!
LATER!!!
We have very mischievous neighbors. Wait, our neighborhood is made up of mischievous people, including myself.
My next door neighbor has a swing, like a back porch wooden swing that belongs in their backyard, but from time to time just ends up somewhere else. A few of us were out last night, at the people’s house across the street when someone absconded with it, and stuck it in the front yard we were all sitting in.
Two weeks ago, it was in our backyard, with a couple neighbors sitting there, cold drinks in hand, texting to me that I should come join them…
This morning, it’s at my other next door neighbor’s.
you should get those old luggage sticks and plaster the swing so it looks like it’s been around the world
I have been invited to my grandmother’s memorial service. There is a cover charge. Let me repeat that: *There is a cover charge *to attend my grandmother’s memorial service. The rest of the email goes on to describe what I can only call an epic clusterfuck in the making. I keep trying to respond to this generous…invitation, but all I can get out is “What the #$@# is **wrong **with you?” before my head explodes. Stay classy, guys.
My interview went ok yesterday. I wasn’t a good fit for the job, but it was good practice anyway.
I had strawberry shortcake for dessert at lunch. Mmmm. Tastes like summer!
I think I’m going to knit this afternoon. Maybe after a nap…
I may have to call the doc next week to see what effect I should be expecting from the pred, and how quickly, because for now, I feel like crap. It’s as if I have two migraines - one on each side - duking it out in my head to see which one will win and earn the right to disable me entirely. At the moment, the one on the right is slightly ahead.
I wish I could remember which of my friends it was that had ox - I could really use something more effective than aspirin right now. Not that I even know if ox would do me any good. If it’s too similar to codeine, I’ll just be allergic to it, meaning I’ll be hurting and itching.
Meanwhile, I carry on. I feel equally rotten if laying down or if doing productive things like laundry and mowing the lawn. Might as well get stuff done.
ETA:
Blue - Are they having the service at a nightclub? How bizarre!
Back. Note to self - the fried shrimp aren’t very good at the good seafood place. So I won’t to that again. Capt. Leonard’s has much better fried shrimp.
My coworker has recovered my data from my old computers so I’m going to pick up the external hard drive tomorrow. Yay.
And that’s it for today. After I do my jigsawaday, I’m going to assume the knit position and veg. And scratch. I had to water the flower boxes on the front porch and apparently, I was the snack bar for the local skeeters. rah.
**Shadow **- that takes tacky to a level even **swampy **can’t hope to achieve!!
I’s tahred - I foresee an early night tonight.
Whatever do you mean MOOOOOOM? I do not plan on a cover charge for my memorial service. However, there will be a two drink minimum.
Shadow really, just where is your grandmother’s memorial bein’ held?
Company has come and gone. Earlyish dindin with drinks before. ‘Twas nice but I’m glad everyone’s gone. Dishwasher is doin’ it’s thing and soon we’re goin’ beddy bye.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Shadow - that certainly is…original. :dubious: Not sure that I’d be able to react civilly if that happened in my family.
Sorry the job wasn’t a good fit, but it’s nice that you got a bit of practice.
Hope the pain goes away, gotti.
We’ve seen HP 1-3 and are about to start 4. Took a break for basketball and seeing how high we could swing. I love that that the playground is only a block away.
Back to the movies…
Hugs.
GT
Up - in fact, I’ve been up since 5, but I woke on my own, not with the help of any critters.
Speaking of which, I’m a bit worried about Taz. I don’t know how long it’s been since he’s eaten. And he doesn’t jump up on the sink for water like he usually does. Ever since we started the antibiotics, it’s seemed like he’s lost interest in food. But otherwise, he doesn’t act sick - maybe he just eats at night when we sleep? I’ll be calling the vet tomorrow.
I’ve created part of the shrine I’m going to make for my boss. My whiteboard at work has said “Freaking Ray of Sunshine” for some months now, because I am a Freekin’ Ray of Sunshine, Dammit!! Anyway, I found a cool pic of a sunrise on line and I did my name in the same style as on the “Chalice” and overlaid that on the sunrise photo. I’ve got a hunk of foamboard to mount that plus some photos of me to make the backdrop for the shrine. I’ve also got candles, flowers, incense (I think - I hope I didn’t lose the stick) and a pair of socks (referring to a dream I had where my boss came to my house to steal my socks.) When **FCD **wakes up, I need to get him to take photos of me.
I also plan to make peach preserves today. And I have at least one errand to run this afternoon.
I’ve got windows open to enjoy what will probably be the last cool morning for a while - heat wave is supposed to hit this week. blech.
Happy Sunday!
Thiscracked me up for some reason…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 92 and scattered tstorms. Accordin’ to my very unofficial rain gauge we got just under four inches of rain from Firday night through yestiddy. YAY!!!
MOOOOOM the “shrine” sounds loverly. I trust we shall see pics of the finished product. I just know boss will treasure it forever.
Hope you’re feelin’ better gotti. Forgot to say that last night.
Also, Shadow sorry the job wasn’t a good match but the interview is good practice anyways.
Ok, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Purtification for deheathenization must also commence at some point.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
ETA: First on Four!
too funny - that goes in to my arsenal
Happy Sunday everyone! Off to do more work, we bought two peach trees that need plantin’. I’ve got one hole dug, and we put a tree in it. Still have to start on the other one, but I had to get some breakfast and some steroid cream. My legs are covered in 1/4"-1/2" welts/blisters from bug bites. WHAT IS IN OUR YARD?
MOOOOOM, are you going to cover everything else in aluminum foil?
I am up and caffeinated, and trying to motivate myself to go to work.
Sorry about the prednisone, gotti, it has some weird side effects.
Moooom, the shrine sounds like a great idea.
Not even the crabs were interested in my sacrificial squid this morning.
Just finished 8 half-pint jars of peach preserves. I only had room to boil 7 of them, so the 8th gets eaten first. One other seems to have an iffy seal, so I’ll put that into the fridge and give it to daughter next time she comes by.
**donkeybear **- I do think I’m going to use foil for the backdrop and the “altar” - do you think I can pass it off as silver plating??
Glad I looked on the CD of our refi papers - I’m supposed to mail in our first payment. I’ll call them tomorrow and see about setting up automatic payments. Writing checks is so 1990s…
Looks like I need to go buy a color ink cartridge for my printer. I thought I had a spare, but apparently not. *grrrrrrrrrr *I did not want to go to WalMart today. I should probably do it now before the stupids get out in force.
Motivation has failed, I fear I must take a day off.
<hides doggio’s motivation and guilt so he can enjoy a day off>
Good luck with that. He’s Catholic, and the only people that beat Catholics at guilt are Jewish grandmothers.
Doggio, several beerverages should help.
I have to share this with y’all - it’s from the facebook Mensa group (we are known to trade bad jokes)
a turtle was at home when two snails came in and robbed him…police asked turtle what happened and he said “i don’t know, it all happened so fast”
