It’s surprisingly huge.
It’s my Monday. Le sigh. I’m just not feeling it today. However, I do have a nerd afternoon planned at ye olde Pug Coffee Shop with a book on local history and a notebook.

Good morning! Not sequestered yet, so I’m in the office. Yay, I guess. Evil *OMG IT’S GONNA SNOW *on the way, and, sadly, I need to go to the grocery store for, among other things, eggs and milk. I swear it’s not a panic french toast purchase - I’m just almost out of both, and some other things. If the store’s too crazy, I’ll do without until after.
Hiya, Butters! Welcome back!
And because I’m not totally mannerless, welcome to **That Don Guy **- I didn’t notice you right away - I’m so ashamed. Tell us about yourself!
I just changed my desk calendar this morning and I see that we change our clocks this weekend - Spring Forward! Just when I was getting used to a little daylight as we get to work, we’ll be plunged into darkness again. pooh!
Other than that, just another freekin’ day in paradise. Happy Tuesday!
Ha, did it again. School holiday means its my Monday but really Tuesday.
I was out the door at 4 this morning to be snow ready, but the boss just called and said 99% chance we’ll be closed like every other school district around us.
Went to a memorial service last night for a friend’s mom. She passed away in her sleep last week while on vacation. It was amazing. It was in the community room/clubhouse of a subdivision. Decorated with balloons, party food and her four adult kids were all in their PJ’s. it was a couple hours of people milling around sharing memories, then her son took the microphone and literally emceed a variety show with her grand kids singing songs, telling stories, family members sharing stories and the like. It was an actual celebration.
I’ve hired her son do the same for me when I decide to leave.
Cue my semi-annual “standard, daylight, split the difference, pick something else altogether, I don’t care, just pick something AND STICK WITH IT!!!” rant.
Afternoon, all. It’s Tuesday but technically I could claim this as Thursday because I am taking two days off to invade France.
Nothing much exciting happening at irk, I am still locked out of a load of systems due to my co-irker’s death and the fact that HR turned off all her access log-in stuff within 24hrs of being notified about it. Usually they take weeks!
I’m faffing around trying to do things that need to be done, without too much success, and things are just piling up around me at the moment. I have a meeting with my line manager this afternoon though, I’ll have to get her on the case 'cos that’s what management is for.
My Mum keeps trying to grow it- it’s never got that big though, and it does tend to die in winter.
Considering I live about 2.5 hours drive away from London, it’s sort of embarrassing how little of all the museums 'n stuff there I’ve seen. Mind you, I’m not sure it’s possible to see all of them properly in one lifetime.
I have the house to myself until thursday night- my housemate’s gone to her Grandma’s funeral, so I think I’ll take the excuse for a proper house clean up. I don’t want to though, it’s sunny, and I want to go outside and do something fun!
So its a bad time at work, one of our foremen is MIA (he has a history of drinking and depression) and my grandboss’s dad committed suicide this past weekend. Here’s hoping the news gets better through the week
The only thing wrong with having a Monday off is that Tuesday sux exponentially
{{{rio}}} So sad about grandboss’s dad. Hope the co-irker is found ok.
flytrap that plant looks like some kinda mutant ginormous collard green or turnip green plant.
There are no cookies at irk. This makes me sad.
Ok, back to irk bear!

Irked. got in a fender bender in the bank
[/QUOTE]
Next time, don’t drive in the bank. Park in the lot and walk in, or if you’re careful, you could try the drive-up teller.
I’m up, caffeinated, and on vacation.
Welcome, Don!

Thank Og it’s not kudzu.
They look positively Lilliputian.
Unfortunately, got that ‘pink slip’ last month. Officially, we have until the end of the year as TPTB are closing this location, though I think it’s only until [del]they[/del] we train our replacements, probably sometime summer or fall.
Waiting on the PC guy to call/stop by & then I assume I’m off to the gym again as I’m still on the loaner PC, which allows me email & internet access only. For security reasons, they’ve disabled the USB drives in our PCs (so no one can steal client data); however, they also don’t give us any network or cloud space to back up our data. This means that all of the documents that I was working on & all of the bookmarks of internal sites, like our various sharepoints, are gone unless they can recover from D-E-D ded hard drive. :smack: Lots of thumb-twiddling & internet surfing in my immediate future.
Yeah, today looks like it’s on a downward slope. I suspected it would be a bad depression day when I got up and yes it is. And now it’s raining. I’m forcing myself to go out this afternoon. I need to not hide in my cave like I did all weekend. That only makes it worse.

Those leaves die off every year? I wonder what the evolutionary advantage is to having a handful of insanely massive leaves vs bunches of normal sized leaves.
Good news / bad news with DH. Rads are going as expected. Unfortunately, “as expected” includes bleeding and pain as the tumor(s) start to die.
It’s raining and I have to wear a skirt because all my pants that fit are in the wash…
I am getting to big for my clothes
Poor DH. Kinda hard to know what to say in this situation gotti except maybe to hope the tumors are gone soonest. It just sucks no matter what.
We now have chawklit chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. Crisis averted. All’s right again.
Looking forward to the fun irk-related task of figuring out how to make a game out of an RC backhoe (toy!) picking up and moving buckeyes. I do get to do weird fun things sometimes.
My son is trying to not get overly excited about the very real possibility of a snow day tomorrow, lest he be disappointed. They didn’t get a single one last year and haven’t had one yet this year. The one day that might have been a snow day was Presidents Day, which they had off anyway.
::Shakes fist at Gotti::
(as an aside, we should really start spelling that “Ghoti”.
… And then re-nickname you “Fish” :D)
{{{ Rio }}}
I seem to do that regularly, without benefit of pregnancy… :smack: :o
So, they’ve left Nuts in charge of the asylum…? Party over at Filbert’s!!!
