The I stayed up until midnight just to post this MMP

Today’s the day my baby moves south. :frowning: She’s got strict instructions to text us regularly so we know her progress down I-95. They’re not leaving till noon or so, which will get them to Orlando in the wee small hours of the morning, hence text vice phone calls.

I’m going to drag the carpet cleaner out today like I intended to do yesterday but didn’t. Lots of spot-cleaning in 3 rooms, thanks to assorted spills, pees, pukes, and general life messes. Bear in mind, most of the messes are critter messes. Anyway, it should take an hour or so to deal with that. I should mow also. Maybe, maybe not. I’d have to pick up a bunch of branches that have fallen in the front yard, and it might make me sweat!!!

And the dishwasher needs to be unloaded. And I think I should change the sheets on the bed. And I should probably dust, but I HATE DUSTING!!!

On the other hand, not that it matters to us retirees, it’s Firday!

Happy Firday, all!

All this talk of heat and humidity reminds me of why I moved up to the high country.

Don’t worry, we have to deal with Floridiots escaping their heat and humidity so it evens out in the end.

Driving rant: That guy I passed this morning on the tollway, ya know the one in the beat up pick up truck? The guy that was holding a cigarette, a cup of coffee and had a phone in the crook of his neck?
**
Stop doing that!**

Busy, tiring work week, so I’m only just now catching up.

Hugs to picu, Sticky, Spaz, gotti and anyone else I’m forgetting.

Happy belated birthday, Soapy.

It’s Firday!!!

Hugs all.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated (actually still at it), brekkied and at irk. A hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge tboomer came through about a quarter of six this mornin’ and zapped power at da cave. Fortunately I had hot water to shower and shave so I was able to purtify albeit in semi-darkness as the only light was from the tiny window in the bathroom. So I purtified, stopped for a bizkit and here I am. Jawja Power has informed me via email that power has been restored at da cave.

flytrap how did it taste when you fried it? Oh like you didn’t think I would do it! :stuck_out_tongue:

My plan for the day is get some paperirk stuff done this mornin’ and I’m outta here just cause. This week has kicked butt and Ima escape early.

ETA: ‘Tis a very hyooooooooooomid, steamy 78 Amurrkin out already with a predicted high of 92 and afternoon rain/tstorms/apocalypse. Since I’ve already experienced apocalypse, I’m hopin’ for just rain and tstorms.

That’s a very purty fishie. I hope your fries will do well.

(Yes, I know that the plural of “fry” is “fry” in this case. I was being silly.)

What do you call a baby fish from France? A French fry!

**CatDude **- I think that guy was driving near us when we went to Home Depot the other day, except it wasn’t on a tollway. moron…

**FCD **called. They decided to go for BBQ last night and one of the guys said “Hey, I know a great place!!” It was only 70 miles away… My sweetie said he rode over 500 miles total yesterday. The part that pisses me off is that the road captain for the trip there didn’t stop for lunch. **FCD **has blood sugar issues - he needs to eat. But of course he didn’t say anything. Sometimes men can be such idiots…

Well, I’m done all my comics and such - guess I should do the carpets, since the housework fairy didn’t show up. The bitch. :stuck_out_tongue:

Last night we tackled The Dreaded Hall Closet. There were nine bags of garbage. NINE. We also found a Batman pez dispenser with pez still in it, but Roomie declined to eat them, even when I pointed out the pez aren’t food, so they can’t possibly go bad. The living room is now full of garbage bags, but dammit, that closet it empty.

Then we went on the Great Milkshake Hunt of 2013. Seriously. We just wanted to go downtown and get milkshakes. But there was some kind of event happening in the middle of town that included street performers and no effing parking. We must have circled the block three times–and in that time, we could have gone home, parked, walked there, and gotten our damn milkshakes. But it was something of a vendetta, at that point. We even drove down to the grocery store to just buy ice cream and make our own milkshakes, only to find that everybody at the carnival across the street had parked in the store lot, so there was once again not a single parking spot to be found. Eventually, we gave up and went to see if the Stewart’s in the next town was still open. We got our shakes, but it took the better part of an hour and left us angry. But we enjoyed the hell out of those Anger Shakes and went home to watch tv.

I was trying to decide if you were teasing your roomate with the inconsistency - it’s not food so it can’t go bad and therefore you should eat the non-food - or if your roomate is accustomed to such tricks and so ‘no’ is the default response regardless.

I’m a little stressed since I’ve moved the tabs on my browser to the side and the effects are bleeding in the real world. OK, not really, but it is very deeply ingrained and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get used to it. The problem is that I like it so much better there’s now an internal struggle between the warm and familiar and what is clearly better and more efficient. It’ll be interesting to see if I’m as malleable as I’d like to believe.

I am sure you are speaking of the frog mentioned above.
Else I would be inclined to ask, “What part of ‘stifle it’ do you not understand?”

:dubious:

Yes. :stuck_out_tongue:

What? I was just curious as to how your fish fry went.

I am going to get you a puppy so that it may pee in your shoe.

:dubious:

Accomplishments!! The carpet has been spot cleaned - I hope I got them all. I also hope they’re properly cleaned - it’s hard to tell when it’s still wet. I’ve got fans going - with luck, I can run the vacuum this afternoon and see if I missed anything.

I also took care of dishes and the kitchen, showered myself and dressed, and tossed some sheets in to the washer. I need to run to Home Depot for 2 more pavers, plus I need AA batteries. My wireless mouse died yesterday and I (luckily) found 2 mismatched AAs under a roll of tape. I’ve got plenty of AAAs and even some Ds for the big-ass flashlight and a single 9V. But I need AAs. And that’s your battery update for today. When I get the sheets on the line, I’ll head up to Waldork for the pavers and the batteries.

**flytrap **- you seem unusually cranky. I think you should go to TimeOut and think about how mean you’re being to our favorite bear. No sass from you, just go!

Happy Firday!

It’s already 79 degrees with a projected high of 86.
I saw the HFH just leave, which is a good thing.

FCM I’m glad I wasn’t eating when I saw that pic, way worse than the snake in the living room.

Midget I luvs almond cookies. I have a recipe that uses pound cake mix to make the cookies. Yummy. I’m not baking any cookies though until I have my own oven in which to bake them.

Blurf.

I had to go say goodbye to my friend’s Sheppard mix last night. They’re having to put him to sleep because of the cancer.:frowning:

Yesterday was pretty good. I took the kids out to Dave and Buster’s (I probably already said that) and we had a nice time. We were all convinced that Dave was there with us because of a few odds and ends things that happened. And we all ordered “Dave’s Double Cheeseburger” because it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Today, on the other hand, I feel like crawling under a rock to hide. Gotta get my act together soon. I need to pack my van for tomorrow’s show and then my dad and I are heading to GT town to see Jackson Browne tonight.

Speaking of Waldork I found out yesterday that we are getting a third, a 3RD Waldork in our town.

Of course they say that two of them are in the neighboring towns but that is BS.
I’m not sure what is says about my town that it needs 3 walmarts.

I’m hungry, gonna have leftover Szcheun shrimp for N.O.T.

It is not you piscines that he wishes to culinize. :dubious:
