The "I wonder what ever happened to..." MMP

About to turn off the computer and go to sleep before an early wakeup tomorrow and a flight to London for a looong weekend vacation (and Boxing Day shopping! :D)

Happy Birthday Taxi! And Merry Christmas to everybody! See you all next week.

Howdy Y’all! Survived another day. Rah.

Have a safe trip Special1!

I’s hongry! I should forage.

My post got et - I am not amused. I wasn’t amused anyway, because the stoopit bridge from stoopit VA to stoopit MD had traffic backed up over 2 miles and it took me a stoopit hour to go 2 miles. The next nearest bridge across the Potomac is the Wilson Bridge. That would be in DC, making it a 3+ hour detour. So I sat and listened to the radio. Stoopit bridge.

Supper was clean-out-the-fridge leftovers.

Scruffy wants out. I want chocolate. I don’t want to go to work tomorrow, but I’ll be going in for half a day. My stoopit computer kept crashing - at least one program did - the one program I needed in order to do my job. So I was not happy, nor did I finish what I’d hoped to finish.

ho ho ho :stuck_out_tongue:

AKA musgho. You eat everything that must go…

ETA: Bah humbug.

I think I’m coming down with something.

rosie’s sig to all! I’m off to drink hot tea and watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and have a long talk with my immune system.

AAAALLLLLLL MY SHOPPING IS DONE!!! This includes food. Well, except for the prime rib roast. I pick that up tomorrow. But I ordered it last week, so all I do is go to the butcher shop, give them my name, they hand my lovely, lovely, lovely prime rib roast over and I pay.

All the other food has been purchased. My last Christmas present was purchased. My last stocking stuffers were purchased. I am done shopping and it’s a damn good thing because all this was killing my bank account.

Tomorrow, I’m up at o’dark thirty to clean up and drink 32 ounces of water. Then I need to 25 miles away from home for a transvaginal ultrasound by 0700 hours. The ultrasound should take around 40 minutes or so. After that, it’s back towards my hometown to pick up the roast. After I get home, I’ll finish with any last minute tidying and make the green bean casserole for my MiL’s do at her house.

Then, it’s off to her house for much noise and helping out in the kitchen. Hopefully, we’ll be home by around 9:00 or so, and then I can stuff the kids’ stockings, set the table for Christmas day, do any further tidying that needs done, and finally fall into bed.

Christmas Day, we’ll wake up, make coffee, open presents with the kids and my daughter’s boyfriend, and clean up again. Finally, I’ll begin food preparation. Everyone is coming over around 2:00 in the afternoon.

I am freakin’ TAHRED. I slept for about an hour last night, and then got up at 3:30. I just wasn’t able to sleep.

I was at the MAUL by 10:00 am and back home by around 12:30. Then, my Dad came over and we exchanged presents. He visited for awhile and then left. Then, I headed out to the grocery store and picked up all the food and staples we needed.

I’m going to commence making Death Chicken, and then I’ll do some more cleaning. I still need to steam clean the stairs and the front hallway. I’m not quite sure I’m up to it. We’ll see.

Hugs, smooches and gropes to all. I’m off to have another Lemon Drop martini and cook the Death Chicken. MWAH!!!*

ORLY?

(Yeah, I’m a coding freak.)

Lovely, T

Apparently, “no student services in such and such dates” includes no heating. Do they think every student, including the Hindus from India and the Moslems from Egypt, goes home for December 25? Is this the first year half the rooms are occupied over Christmas break? Good thing the building is well insulated.

Happy Bday, taxi!

Still trying to get over a hangover. Last night was our first company dinner after the reorg and man did people drink. Didn’t get home til 5am. Thank God my class doesn’t start til 7pm today.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN

After work (No I do not get Christmas Eve off) I’m headed up to da homeplace. I get to come back tomorrow afternoonish cause Satidday is work day. Envy me.

Anywho, I shall attempt to post from mom’s or sis’s 'puter. However, if’n I don’t get a chance too…

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Did you guys miss me?

Yesterday was really, really busy. Hopefully, today will be much less eventful except I need to come up with some sort of dessert to take to TVMom’s house later today. After I made all those desserts I came up one short and had to sell the one that I was going to take over there, too. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, I think it’s almost time for me to start making our usual breakfast. Catch you all later!

12 more hours of blurf.

Congrats, Taters!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!!

My shopping is all done, too. Presents are all under the tree except for some gift cards Mr. Anachi needs to bag.

The grocery store was mad yesterday. I can’t imagine how it will be today.

All I have left to do today is mop some floors and tidy.

Hope nobody is getting stuck by the winter storm.

MERRY PRE-CHRISTMAS

Woohoo! 'Tis the season and all that. Company luncheon starts in 3 hours and I doubt there will be much if any work to be done between now and then; there aren’t many places still open today that are liable to call for stuff.

Then after the party it’s home to finish packing and preparing for our trip to Smiths Falls tomorrow for the family gathering. Long, boring trip, but the food will be good, and we’ll make sure to bring the laptop and a DVD to pass the time. Also have to remember to call my cell company and set up tethering or else I’ll have to do all my browsing on my phone.

But right now I have to go do the little work that there is to do.

Hai.

At work. Ugh. Sending lots of send-me-home-early vibes in direction of the manager, in hopes that he’ll pick up the subconscious message.

King Tut was meh. For one, it’s a freaking $30 exhibition on King Tut and the Pharaohs… yet it didn’t include any of the major pieces from Tut’s tomb. Lots of very impressive smaller pieces from the tomb, yes, but mostly ornaments and amulets and statuettes. Plus, the bulk of the exhibit consisted of pieces related to other pharaohs/royal family/court dignitaries, and most of it was very generic compared to the beautiful pieces I saw from the British Museum’s Egyptian Art collection when they displayed it in Montreal a couple years ago.

Anyway, should the King Tut exhibit come to a museum near you, save the dough unless you’re a massive Egypt nut.

(also, I’m noticing that they’re providing less and less info in the exhibits themselves so that you’re forced to buy audio guides if you really want to appreciate what you’re looking at… which annoys me, because I absolutely *loathe *audio guides)

Back from the ultrasound for the insides of my girly parts.

I stopped here for a cup of coffee, and then I’ll dash out to the butcher shop.

Am I bad because I just want all this to be over? I mean, I can’t wait to see the reactions I get when my family opens their gifts; I love that part; but all the running and cleaning and obligations just wear me out.

With all the kvetching done, I can now laugh at the face of the rad tech while doing my ultrasound. My uterus is waaaaaaaaay tipped to the back and the right. It’s also kind of on it’s side. Her face was priceless.

Well, much to do.

Merry, merry Christmas to all of you. Thanks for brightening my days and for all the warmth and support you always offer.

Smooches!

Yay! I’ve been released from my corporate bondage, and set free to wreak havoc upon the world.

In other words, I’m headed to the grocery store to grab a few last-minute items for tomorrow’s dinner and Saturday’s brunch. Wish me luck… it’s going to be a war zone in there.

Believe it or not, I actually did some work today. And I found something that will completely change one part of my analysis, so that was good. I’ll edit it on Monday. And thanks to the President, we got 4 hours of holiday leave today, so I got to go at 10:15. I ran to the store for my contribution to tomorrow’s brunch (tossed salad) plus a few bottles of local wine for my mom.

Daughter and SIL are headed up to my mom’s for the night so they don’t have to drive as much tomorrow, since they’re leaving bro’s for FL after th festivities. So **FCD **and I have the place to ourselves. Well, us and the zoo. I’m going to do a little laundry and wrap the wine (everything else was wrapped yesterday.

Since it’s supposed to rain tomorrow, I’m going to park outside while we’re gone, hoping it’ll wash some of the salt off my poor car. Failing that, I’ll find a car wash on Saturday. That’s pretty much all the plans I have for the next 3 days.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and/or weekend as is appropriate for your locality and traditions. (is that generic and inoffensive enough?)

Oh, look! Mistletoe!!!

MWAH!!!

Sigh! Grumpy, overtired toddler has been appeased and put to bed (visions of sugar-plums dancing in her head - or actually, visions of Santa Claus flying all over the world), presents are all wrapped and laid out under the tree, stockings have been stuffed and laid out on the sofa (no mantelpiece), shopping finished since yesterday (just waiting for hubby to come home with the booze), [del]cookies have all been baked[/del] oops - still have cranberry and white chocolate shortbread to make for tomorrow, and Santa has been and ate his gingerbread cookies and drunk his milk! It must be Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!!

I can’t believe I forgot to share this tidbit - we have booked our vacation!! I honestly can’t recall the last time we had a real vacation, not a stay-home-and-do-chores vacation. Anyway, the last week in June and the first week in July, we’ll be schoonering!!! From June 30 to July 3, we’ll be aboard the Nathaniel Bowditch, then from July 4-10, we’ll be on the Mary Day for the annual schooner race. June 27-29, we’ll hang out in Newport RI and explore the area.

Only 6 months to go!!!

**Dotty **- I miss Christmas with little ones. Too doggone many cynical adults in our family now. Be sure to post photos of the morning’s excitement so I can live vicariously thru them!

Laundry’s in the dryer. **FCD **has been snoozing on the couch all afternoon. I may knit for a little while. It’s nice having nothing to do…
