The imPEACHment Pit Thread

I’m with ya on that. That’s why I’m not bothering to watch or listen to any of it.

Or as I put it a while back, elsewhere: “If ya ain’t cheatin’, ya ain’t tryin’” appears to be Republicans’ credo these days.

It’s difficult for people to admit they are wrong, and were lied-to, and they took the bait. They don’t want to look stupid, even if they feel that way. Trump has told so many lies and his supporters drink it in every day - they are so far in at this point there is no way out. They cannot just up and say “welp, you libruls were right about that Trump guy. He sure is a scumbag, trouncing on our good Constitution like that, selling access to the White House. Lock him up!”

He is their man and they are going to stick with him no matter what the facts say. Doing anything else would mean you are a non-loyal traitor.

I was going to post a link for you but the Google results reminded me that it’s a hilarious and somewhat long story so it’s better if you do it yourself and enjoy. Just search for “Sharpie NOAA Map”, and the first few pages of hits give you the full story. The image of the map is fantastic, too.

Article and photos here.

Warning! Business Insider is " Left-Center Biased based on story selection that leans left" according to Media Bias Factcheck. This means that they are all socialist Never-Trumpers who cannot be trusted.

AKA: It’s a cult, and they are all members.

The entire portion of the government taken over by Trump Republicans is like the 7th grade slow larnin’ class is in charge. You can hear the “Nyeah!! Nyeah!! Nyeah!!” every time they open their yaps. And that’s exactly why their supporters swoon over them.

Remember when government was comprised of the best and brightest? I miss that.

As for the Ginsberg thing… just hush. Please.

Thanks. I remembered about the NOAA map thing, and Thelma Lou very kindly provided me with the “I WANT NOTHING” image.

That and they’re perfectly happy with things as they are as long as no “Godless Democrat” is running the country. Did you see the recent story about that lamebrain in Alabama who knifed the Trump baby balloon? He regards his “fight” as one between “good and evil.” That’s right - Trumpies actually believe that they’re on the side of “good” in all this.

Affirmative.

I heard the audio from the “I want nothing. I want nothing.” speech on NPR.

Dude, you are a few months too late for that. Do you think that saying it NOW is going to present some credible defense later?

Who would have thought that being in charge of diplomacy with our most important allies, plus one brave country fighting corruption and freedom’s biggest foe, is not a job for amateurs?

Sgt. Drumpfenschultz.

And he still wants Zelensky to “do the right thing” by announcing a Biden investigation. As if that were a noble or even defensible thing to ask.

The college dropout learns that note-taking is not a bad idea after all.

No offense to dropouts. Sondland started small and became a billionaire with relatively little outside help. (He started with a generous loan from a wealthy brother-in-law.) Say what you will, he’s smart and savvy.

Yep. He lost it and directed profanities at me, and I was totally inside the lines. I don’t want to detail the trajectory ( gotta protect my sources and methods:) ) it wasnt just one post, but I got it there.

We both got told to cut it out and I pushed back a little bit in the ATMB forum, still no warning. But, in retrospect, I’m thinking he cut a deal with management because he took a 7 week hiatus afterwards.

And I will add that there were a few things that happened in the GD forum that led me to believe he might occasionally read the Pit. So I keep that in mind.

Oh, I’m sure it’s a regular reader her. If you listen closely, you can hear the faint sounds…

For what it’s worth, Sondland came off (to me, at least) as very likable and comfortable in the situation. He did not seem overly prepared (perhaps too a fault?) but that only helped his credibility. I don’t think he was lying during the earlier deposition either, although we only have the transcript of that one he does seem like the person who flies by the seat of his pants and is comfortable walking into a meeting unprepared, taking no notes, and getting through on personality. I’m also not a note taker, but I rely heavily on my email history to reconstruct previous conversations, and he really does seem hamstrung by not having access to that.
