Very unlikely that the Senate will vote him out. Even now.
Even more unlikely he’ll ever see prison time.
But, this can only hurt him further come the 2020 elections. Just one more year…

I don’t think there are any circumstances in which enough Republican senators will put country first. I think Romney and maybe 1-2 other GOP senators will vote for impeachment and maybe 1 other will abstain in some way.
At this point, I think the value is that we are a)establishing the historical record and b) making it clear to the world and ourselves that there are still Americans who believe in rule of law and democracy. I think that there is also value in forcing the GOP to go on record that they support this kind of lawlessness.
Conaway: “Three pinnochios!”
Speier: “The President of the United States has five pinnochios on a daily basis so let’s not go there.”
SPONTANEOUS APPLAUSE.
That was pretty great.
So, what I’m picking up from the Republicans, that when a Democrat next sits in the Oval Office, if the POTUS gets hungry, it’s totally fine to knock down any border walls to let the burritos in?
Here’s video for anyone that missed it. I love Conaway’s face at the end!
It’s now the Party Of Traitors, far as I’m concerned. They whole damn party and “The Base” can go straight to Hell.
(Tip: Turn volume down a little - Jim Jordan shouting)
They don’t care one bit. I think next time a Trumpy tries waving their flag in my face, I’ll take it and shove it up their ass for them - figuratively speaking.
I think that they are actively hostile to democracy and the rule of law because it means that non-whites have a say in the ordering of society.
Why exactly did the United States send this wealthy hotelier to one of its most important overseas postings rather than an experienced diplomat? … The short answer is that Sondland donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration committee.
According to the most recent AFSA data, 45 percent of the ambassadors appointed under Rrump are political appointments, the most of any modern president. He has also stacked the corridors of Foggy Bottom with political appointees — at present, only a handful of assistant secretaries of state are career Foreign Service officers.
I’m pretty sure it is actually also the long answer.
Trump on Tuesday:
The founders literally put the impeachment option in the FREAKIN’ CONSTITUTION.
You can clock a GHz microprocessor by his lies.
It’s the Major Major Major strategy. You can only impeach a President if there’s no mechanism for doing so; if there is such a mechanism, you can’t impeach.
The next time a Democratic president does something completely, politically self-serving at the expense of US policy/funds, I don’t want to hear any Republican say a fucking thing.

Do you have any doubt in your mind - ANY doubt whatsoever, that when a Democrat is in the Whitehouse, the Republicans will open up impeachment on DAY ONE on some idiotic QAnon conspiracy theory? Because of course they will.
In fact, I would wager that if by some horrible luck Ginsberg is suddenly struck down, with 5 days to go in a Trump presidency, the Senate and Turtle man will try to rush through a Supreme Court appointment. Because of course they will.
Of course they will.
Has anyone else seen the pathetic sharpie note that Trump just read from? Huge letters in black sharpie, filling the page:
"“I want nothing. I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo. Tell Zellinsky to do the right thing. This is the final word from the Pres. of the U.S.”
I thought your post was a joke when I first read it. I assumed you were riffing off of the NOAA hurricane forecasting shenanigans a few months back, but holy shit, it’s for real.
Really? Linky, please?
Oh, I’d LOVE it if HD showed, but he won’t play by the Pit rules. I’m pretty sure he has me blocked because I think I’m the only on to make him lose his temper in GD. He threw the “f” word at me and everything. He didn’t get a warning
- I poked him good, but didn’t break any rules
But then he “self-suspended” for something like 7 weeks. I’m proud of that one.
As Euphonious Polemic mentioned in the other thread, Sondland’s testimony tomorrow will be interesting. Will he tell the truth or will he double down? Now I’m hearing speculation that he may plead the 5th.
Roger Stone’s verdict happened at an opportune time. If Sondland keeps up the lies he has freaking brass balls,
And I also wonder what tack the Republicans will take with their questions. Will they lob him softballs that let him wax poetic about what an honor it is to serve Trump? Will they try to get him to say that Trump didn’t do it? If Sondland goes the truthful route and confesses to his lies (Like who REALLY believes Trump told him to “go out there and tell the truth”), and Gym tries to make him recant his recanting.
And to think, the guy payed a million buck for this,
ETA Excuse my little typos, I can’t find my glasses
You made HD lose his temper without getting in trouble with any moderators here? You have earned my eternal respect.
