The "I've Voted" Thread

Los Angeles County here. I recently got my absentee ballot, filled it out last night, and this afternoon I dropped it off at one of the five weekend early-voting locations. The line was unbelievably long, but I got to skip it and just drop my previously prepared ballot off. I could have mailed it but this way I am sure it made it to the ballot box, I put it there myself. I was hearing estimates of a three to four hour wait, or more. Most of those in line were young people.

Voted today in Ohio for Hillary and Ted Strickland. Probably last cause for both, but I have to say, this is the third election in a row where I’m proud of who I voted for to be president. And I’ve been voting since 1980.

Having just voted for the lesser of two evils, I envy you.

Just voted this morning. 15 minutes. Here in rural North Carolina, the heart of Trumpland, my vote was no doubt overwhelmed by most of the other folks in line (one nice old man wearing a Trump hat), but at least I did my bit to return The Old North State to civilization.

No line at all, just in and out, polling place 1 mile from my home.

(Of course I vote in an overwhelmingly Republican area…)

My polling place has awful parking, so I show up 30 minutes before the polls open to be able to park. However, once open, I was out in less than 20 minutes. We even had a first-time voter in the first group (and he got a round of applause).

Thankfully, no one talked politics; we mostly discussed the horrors of the parking lot. By the time I left, it would’ve been easier for voters to park at the next closest polling place, and jog the 2-3 miles to our polling place.

I’m guessing this thread will start growing as of today.

Same vote as above on the constitutional amendment. Seems pointless. Apart from that, almost all the judges were running unopposed, so that choice was easy. State offices were easy choices as well. I voted for the only two City Council members I know.

Voted Libertarian for President for reasons stated elsewhere.

To all who vote - thank you.

Regards,
Shodan

voted! number 88. the polling place is in my residential building. just an elevator ride down and 10 minute wait in the community room.

i was at the philly rally last night. my feet still hurt, but it was a fantastic time. i even managed to ride a septa bus home!

I was number 60 for my precinct (or maybe third-of-a-precinct: I think they broke it up by last name). The lines were long enough to show a healthy interest in democracy, but not long enough to discourage anyone. I’m not sure what the parking situation was, because I walked.

In and out voting this morning around 8, no line whatsoever. Saw 1 Trump sign and no Clinton signs outside the polling place. Also saw lots of new, illegal(?) Trump signs on public property on my way to work that weren’t there yesterday.

Ohio voter here. Voted this morning in the church across the street from our home. Just one guy ahead of me in line; got my ballot (two long pages, most of which were Common Pleas judges) from pollworkers and voted without any problem.

Here’s to a decisive Hillary win AND a Democratic takeover of the Senate!

I voted early for Clinton, against Trump’s clone Joe Arpaio, for marijuana legalization and minimum wage increase.

And I volunteered and will help more today.

Trying to make Arizona blue.

Voted this morning in South Carolina. Quite a wait but no troubles as such.

Voted in Missouri - polls opened at 6:00 am, got in line at 6:15, voted at 7:04. Line looked to be still about that long when I left, but they set up a few more tables for people to vote at (it’s a long damn ballot this year - took me 10 minutes and I knew what I wanted to do for each vote).

Got my Virginia vote in. Three minute wait. Hope we are as blue as everyone says.

I need a new job so I wrote myself in for County Clerk. Anyone else in Nelson County Virginia please help me out. I have been a Grocery clerk/manager for many years so I am sure I would do fine.

Biotop for Clerk!

Voted a bit before 10, I was ballot #336 in our machine. The wait was only a few minutes, mostly waiting for an empty chair- our precinct had 14 seats to mark the ballots. Overall a very efficient operation today, some of the workers were actually under 80.

I registered and voted! Felt good.

I got there about 8:15, registered within <10 minutes, stood in line for notverylong and got out by 8:45.

Polls opened at 7am. By 6:30 there was a line down the block. Luckily, I was 6th in line - in, out, 10 minutes tops. Lots of propositions to vote on. One person in the whole crew under 80, and she looked like a college student getting credit for a Poli Sci class.

The few. The proud. The Wyoming Democrats. My wife and I voted this morning, only took about a half hour or so. Took my 12-year-old son along, he wanted to see the process. He decided it was boring.

I dropped my absentee ballot off in my clerk’s drop-box yesterday morning. It wasn’t showing up on the state SoS website as being received, so I was getting nervous. I called the clerk and asked if it was there. She said it was, but another 12 hours went by and still no confirmation.

Then, just 15 minutes ago, it showed up as “received.” So I have now officially voted.
