I have grocery shopped, have a hunk o’ beast simmerin’ away in the slow cooker, have carrots and N.O.T. ready to throw in in a little while, and have asparagus and summer squish as sides. Dindin will be nummy! Ready for some real foods!
StickyBuns I irked. Now that I don’t, I make good use of the cee-mint pond durin’ Summer. I shall spend quality time there this afternoon even.
MOOOOOOM don’t be ridiculous! That’s what I wear to :eek:Wally*World:eek:.
Good thing **FCD **was home today. We had a major toad-soaker come thru and the drain outside the basement clogged. Fortunately, he saw it before much water got into the basement, and he cleared the clog.
I’ve been busy busy busy redesigning a control box. The engineer listed on the original design did all sorts of weird stuff that I can’t figure out. I don’t understand why some folks have to make things so difficult! Plus she had countersunk screws going into non-countersunk holes. DUMB!! I’m almost done fixing it. But it’s requiring me to modify 4 drawings. Three down, one to go…
It’s pretty warm again over this side of the pond, though the thunderstorms either didn’t happen or just missed me. Shame. We could use the rain. I just had to go water everything at the allotment. It’s looking a bit sad down there; normally at this time of year it’d be just starting to get full of autumn and winter crops, but there ain’t no point this year, especially as the plot is apparently going to become part of the community orchard.
The exception to the looking sad is the beans. I think I may have overdone the planting of beans. It looks like I’ll have enough to fuel a small army, and I’m the only one in the house that likes 'em. I wonder what living on beans for the next month and a half would do to my digestion.
For the most part, I create drawings. The engineers who design the stuff typically submit corrections - sometimes when requirements change, sometimes based on how things had to be installed, sometimes because they goofed, sometimes because I goofed. This particular fiasco seems to have been because the EE chose a different rheostat and the panel into which it was installed had to be modified accordingly. And because the panel was modified, so was the face plate, and the connector mounting plate. Then the installation drawing had to be modified to show the new assembly.
Oh, and it was all based on a design originally done 6 years ago - things change…
The Lavender Festival starts today. I have a long list of stuff I need to get out of my storage locker for their use. Hopefully this year I can make them keep some of that stuff. I want to clear that locker out and stop paying rent on it. Of course that would require me to find new homes for all of my stuff that’s in there. A garage sale may be in order.
Speaking of which, now that I have consumed my breakfast (a banana) in front of the puter, I need to get dressed and get moving.
BLURF Believe it or not I am working on the last thing on my EOM list. This has been one hard month beginning for me. That pesky holiday made it seem like two Moanday’s this week.
I am furious. One of the Key Deer died. The male one that was hogtied and thrown in the trunk.
I had 10 hours too many this past period so I am taking tomorrow off so YAY for three day weekend. I foresee one day to sleep/rest and two days to clean my dirty house. Sounds like fun does it not?
yay!! About time you got to work, ya bum! Congrats!
Trying to piddle away the last bit of my afternoon - not enough time to get into anything major, so I’m tying up some little loose ends. Turns out I could have taken off tomorrow. But I’ll work. Because I said I would.
Home from shopping. It poured rain the whole time.
I got a short nap in.
The cat is still being a brat, now he has decided his new sleeping spot is above my head on my pillow. He has been so clingy the last few days.
Congrats BigKitty
I’m with you Butters.
Maybe they should be hog tied and thrown in a trunk.
Several roads around here are/were closed due to flooding. We had a real toad-soaker come thru earlier. And it’s clouding over again, so we may get more. Or not. Dunno.
Sketties for supper. I should probably get the water started - it takes forever to come to boiling, but only 4 minutes for angel hair pasta to cook. Regardless, I’s hongree!!!
Dindin has been ingested. OYKW said I cooked way too much and I am inclined to agree. 'Twas good however and both of us have N.O.L. for tomorrow so win-win.
The fish arrived safely, having flown from Miami to Louisville to Little Rock. I hope they had a window seat. They were acclimated and are in a quarantine tank.
Dogbutt, Spiderbutt, when they grow to size and begin having lots of offspring, we must consider how to get those sizeable offspring into the saltwater cement pond.
I’m feeling a bit better, although I stayed home today. Between cleanup efforts, a queasy tummy and BG levels bouncing around from it all, it was the better choice. This will mean a one day irk week for me.
