The king's speech

Saw it tonight and it was wonderful. Quiet, cold, and ultimately very moving.

Did anyone else notice that the Theater Director who rejects Geoffrey Rush was Mr Colins?

Yep;)

Yep for me too. He also played Hitler in Valkyrie (in which, ironically enough, Tom Hollander, who played Mr. Collins in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice played one of his aides - so there were two former Mr. Collinses, both playing Nazis!).

Best Actor and Best Picture. Seems pretty reasonable.

He played a character with a stammer in the movie Dead Again as well.

And Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, too - huzzah!

I’d totally forgotten he was Mr Collins - I recognized him as Cicero from the series Rome.

I enjoyed King’s Speech, but I dunno if it was definitively better than any of the other nominees. But it was very “British,” I suppose, and Hollywood seems to like that sort of thing.
