Feel better Herbs!

MOOOOOOM if anything it’d be two freezers devoted to ice cream and two fridges devoted to beer. Cheese straws are a silly thing with which to fill up a freezer. Why, I might become the crazy cheese straw man if I were to do that!

Oh and I’m outta here (here bein’ irk) at three. We’ve been told to shut the place down at three. WHEE!!!

tarra, when I was lunching with my ex-boss the other day, he told me about a former coworker who retired 15 months ago and he’s still just getting partial payments!! He’s quite a bit older - close to 70 - and he had broken service - he was with TVA, then went private industry, then back to the govt. Still - I’d be all over my elected representatives if it took that long. dang! I don’t even want to think about our health insurance, but we definitely have gotten our money’s worth from it, what with 5 back surgeries in the last 6 years or so.

I’ve been to the convenience center with recycling and some clothing (they have a drop box for clothes and shoes) then on to the grocery store for a few items. I was out of cinnamon, of all things!! Since I wanted to make some punkin pies, I needed cinnamon, and with one aisle leading to another, I ended up spending about $40 on assorted stuff. But the pies are in the oven, and I have fresh broccoli to go with tonight’s poke chops.

mmmmmmm - the house smells yummy - cinnamon and nutmeg and ginger… Come on by and have some pie!

Closer than you might think. The gutters need to be cleaned before winter decides to grace us with its presence. I definitely wont be going up any ladders while home alone though. Instead I’ll keep the house purty and the clothes and linens clean and I’ll take down the Christmas decorations. Tomorrow morning we drop off the jeep for repairs and I might help him with the gutters after that. I’m not afraid of heights - just ladders.

New Years Eve eve party tonite. New Years Eve party tomorrow. May not get a chance to post again in 2011 so all you MMPers have a great New Year’s celebration yourselves.

Well, then, Happy New Year lieu!

Da cave gutters need cleanin’ also. Reckon he’d mind comin’ on down to Jawja and cleanin’ out mine too shortdrum? I’ll feed him pizza and have plenty of beer on hand.

Sammiches for dindin tonight. I got some good deli turkey, roast beast and ham and some good deli cheeses. Sounds good to me! I could do some fries. Maybe I will.

All in favor?
Aye!
All opposed?

::crickets::

Rebo, it’s all yours.

waves I has the intertoobs again!!! bounce
Hope little Gnat and the sickies (band name?) are feeling better soon. And count me in with thoes that hate diabetes. PB has it.

2011 saw the removal of my galbladder, and a reassessing of my priorites, which is still ongoing. Hope everyone’s 2012 kicks total booty.

Hi everyone. Haven’t been posting here much lately so I wanted to pop in to the MMP and say “Hi”. Hi!

Here’s a funny. I was chatting with a couple online friends and we were talking about mental health and mentioned that Florida has a mandatory 72 hours psych hold called the “Baker Act” and we use it as a verb. One of the other people randomly mentioned having a yogurt addiction so I said I would have to Baker Activia her. We LOL’d.

Happy New Year!

Hi Pearl

Coyote - LOL

everyone else - HNYEE!

Gnat’s not better. He’s tired and not eating anything, and thy’re struggling to keep his blood sugar up via IV. I have a bag of extra clothes and toiletries packed, but I can’t get them down there- I can’t leave TomKitten and I can’t go to the hospital, which is full of a bunch of nasty flus.
Argh.

Taz is yowling like a crazy case! There’s a cat on his front porch and he is not pleased!! Cracked us both up!

AAARGH! indeed LiLi. Poor little feller. Maybe tomorrow.

{{{Pearl and Coyote}}}!!! YAY!!! Glad y’all stopped by.

Sammich dindin was good. Reminded me of Brick who has also been AWOL.

Now we be chillin’.

Oh Li-li, that sucks. you guys are in my prayers!

I’s home after a day trip down to Cottonfield County to play belated Santa to our redneck peeps.

The old house looks great after all the work from 2 weeks ago. VWife had not seen the place so empty. If the bank bitches now and tries to foreclose instead of the deed-in-lieu (N. O. L.), I will fight it. I spent about $500 and got a seriously infected leg from on-the-job injuries getting it to look like that, after all.

Ol’ Fred is in the hospital, after falling outside and being exposed for several hours. He’s in bad shape, and needs to be in the nursing home beside Mrs. Fred. We saw Mrs. Fred in the nursing home, and she looked to be OK, but will never go home.

On happier notes, all of the little kids we were close to were happy to see us, and reveled in their loot and edible goodies.

Our adopted daughter is near full term, and will make us surrogate grandparents before January is up. Her parents are simultaneously happy and appalled. Dad Doug showed me a couple of projects he made with lumber he salvaged from my lean-to on Cleanout Day 1.

Most of all, I can report NO speeding tickets were written against me on this trip. Thank Og, because I don’t think I could handle any more of VWife’s nagging bullshit over them.

It takes an appallingly short period of time to assume that any display surface should be swiped.

Awwwww. How sweet.

Yeah, that was me on one of those planes, lieu.

Sorry about Gnat, LiLi. Hope he’s better very soon. (I hate diabetes, too, by the way. My grandma had poorly controlled type II and a distant cousin had very brittle type I. Horrible.)

Went to the traditional NYEE theater event (fun modern dance, in this case) and will do the NYE at friends’ tomorrow night. Fun to see everyone in our little group.

Should be asleep, but still on my own personal schedule. Slept 10 hours last night to make up for practically no sleep the night before. (I don’t sleep well on planes.)

rosie and Spaz: hope the moving/transition stress lightens up soon.

Also - hope the rest of the sickies feel better pronto.

Off to try to sleep a reasonable amount.

Hugs all.

GT

Are evening ‘blurfs’ allowed?

abso-blurf-ly

Anti blurf pills for all!!!

Drinking and cleaning tonight. Short day tomorrow(8hours).

{{{{{Gnat}}}}}

Hey Pearl and Coyote!!!

We’re bringing the Jeep to get fixed tomorrow. I ran it for about 15 minutes tonight, to make sure it still does run. Only problem is that I wasn’t thinking and I didn’t back it out of the garage.
The garage and both bedrooms share a wall. We live in a log cabin so the wall between the garage and the house isn’t layers of insulation and drywall and all that other good stuff.
The Jeep’s carburetor is running rich - one of the things which will be fixed soon.

Well, about 2 hours later, I tried to go to bed. I ended up wearing a construction mask because the smell was making me feel ill.
Sweetie’s CPAP mask kept him from breathing in the fumes but I couldn’t take it and just came out here to sleep on the couch.

About 5 minutes later, the CO alarm went off. :smack: We keep it on the wall right between the two bedroom doors. It was at 46 ppm.

I don’t know enough about CO poisioning to know if that would have killed me and the dogs but it’s nice to know that the detector works.
We opened both big garage doors and the back garage door to air it out. Hopefully that will take the fumes away from our room too.

I put the detector in the fridge until it shut up (only about 2 minutes). Now it’s back on the wall. If it doesn’t go off again, we’re going to assume that opening the doors worked and that the bedroom is safe.

We’re moving the top mattress and the CPAP out to the living room because the head of our bed is about 4’ away from the Jeep’s exhaust.
