Yeah, I’m guessing he survives as well.
Of course, Mike makes it to Earth alive as well, otherwise there is no point to his storyline.

My question is how does Mike get to Malibu? Because there’s also no point if he’s off on his own elsewhere. Perhaps he lands in the US, sees one of his brother’s billboards, goes to Tuscon and then finds the note that Carol left for Phil.
I wonder if we’re seeing the breakup of the Malibu family. Todd and Mary Steenburgen are going to piss off January Jones. Pregnant lady is going to be in deep mourning. They all might just go in separate directions dealing with the (presumed) death of Phil.
I think the show would be ten times better without him.
The simplest way would be to just have him land in Southern California.
“First half of the season”? When’s it coming back?
Fox has already announced its Sunday schedule starting in January:
7:00 - (animated repeat - probably usually The Simpsons)
7:30 - Bob’s Burgers
8:00 - The Simpsons
8:30 - Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life
9:00 - Family Guy
9:30 - Bordertown
They said during the telecast that it’ll be back in the spring. So… March? April?
Or maybe…ZOMMMMBIE Phil 2.0!
I can hear him now- “I really have a hankering for some tasty brains, but I don’t see any worth harvesting in this group. I’m going to look for brains in Canada.”
The ISS guy has been teased for too long now. Time to integrate Mike into the group already.
I don’t think they tried shocking Phil 2.0 with paddles did they? If not, they could still save him. Maybe.
They could make this show so much better if they got rid of all the male characters and also Kristen Schaal. Then maybe they could add a few more characters played by the likes of:
Kate Upton, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, Olivia Wilde, Megan Fox and Marion Cotillard.
Then they could hire me to play a male sex toy who would have endless sex romps with all the ladies - especially January.
Oh well, I can dream. Can’t I?
The show would def be much better - at least in my opinion.
January Jones seems like such a bitch but she also seems so very sexy.
Yeah… I feel much like you do. It was pretty funny when it was just Phil, and stayed more or less funny after Carol showed up, but when Melissa and then Todd show up, douchey Phil emerged, and I watched maybe one or two more episodes, because it quit being funny and became more cringey and irritating.
And creepy.
Yeah, it’s a lot better now. I, too, gave up quickly. But my wife stuck with it and she likes it a lot more this season.
Heads up, the show’s back from hiatus tonight.
Really enjoyed tonight’s episode. I was afraid they were going to try and shoehorn Mike’s landing on Earth with the rest of the characters, but having him land in the Atlantic, so it as more random made it feel more “realistic”.
In fact what I really like about this show is that you really never know what to expect. Compared to all the other shows on TV these days, this show nearly always seems original.
Tonight’s favorite lines, “Every Hole”.
One of the best episodes yet, I thought.
I wasn’t quite sure how they were going to maneuver things to bring Mike in contact with his brother and the others in Malibu. It was a little bit of a coincidence for him to land on a cruise ship close to Miami and then to come across Pat and his sailboat, but I’m willing to accept it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode:
(1) the strangeness, the uniqueness, is part of what make the show fun in the first place
(2) the child actor (apparently the same kid from the highly acclaimed movie The Room) was just hilarious… it’s funny when Tandy uses his own brand of PG-rated profanity, it’s funnier when a kid has precisely the same mannerisms
(3) they at least gave lip service to answering the long-wondered-at question of where all the corpses are
Must be difficult filming on location and keeping all people and moving vehicles out of the shot.
Yeah, yeah, we got that about the holes, yeah.
