Do any of you have it yet? I just ordered it from Amazon.com (they were having a good pre-Black Friday sale and had it marked down $20) and am hoping it will get here soon. I generally like Square/Enix RPGs, so I have high hopes for this one. Any initial reviews?
haven’t played it, but I haven’t been a fan of SquareEnix since Enix took over and all the Squaresoft employees left to other companies (mostly to Mistwalker Studios (created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the guy who did all the Final Fantasy games) and Monolith (who did the Xenosaga series)). IGN chewed this game out pretty good from what I read. They used the Unreal Engine 3 and apparently that was a terrible mistake. I played Lost Odyssey (by Mistwalker) which was also on the Unreal Engine 3 and the load times got quite annoying. It’s just not a suitable engine for Japanese-style RPGs.
That said, teh union system does look neat and pretty original. I just haven’t been a fan of squeenix in awhile. I mean, FFXIII is being done by freakin Motomu “shoot me now” Toriyama, the man responsible for FFX-2 (not FFXII, FFX-2, the girly pop-band “costume” system one)

also there’s the IGN review (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/933/933121p1.html) though i tend to skip most of those and just watch the video review. I don’t pay attention to IGN scores too much (they gave it a 5.3, ouch) but they make some good points both for and against most games.
