The Last Starfighter To Be A Musical

Oh yeah, duh. I ODed on Rocky after seeing it several dozen times though. Some friends of mine used to be on a local cast, so we still go every once in a while.

Um…

It’s been done. It was called The Naked Bomb.

You mean The Nude Bomb and it had the original Maxwell Smart. The only way Don Adams would get near this one is in a cameo.

Oops, sorry. I must have been thinking of The Unclad Brunch.

Bwahahaha!

Don’t forget Get Smart, Again!, the 1989 made-for-TV movie. While the cast was a bit long in the tooth, it was still far better than The Nude Bomb.

And there was also the short lived TV series revival on Fox which featured a then unknown Andy Dick, IIRC.

 Phantom of the Opera?

{Adopting Troy McClure voice} Baby, it’s the part I was born to play!

Oh my God, I was wrong
It was Earth all along
And you’ve finally made a monkey

{Chorus} Yes, we’ve finally made a monkey

Yes, you’ve finally made a monkey
Out of meeeeee!
I love you, Doctor Zaius!

Errr…I’m pretty sure lissener was talking about Sweeney Todd.

Good show:).

Ava

That was my second guess! But I didn’t know it was considered the “greatest musical of the American stage”.

Wait…Phantom wasn’t American. :smack: Still, I didn’t know Todd was so highly regarded.

This just in: Brad Pitt as J.R. Ewing?!

Pity Futurama isn’t still running, this would be perfect for Fry to compose on the Holophoner.

Kinda heartwarming, somehow.

I saw this as Peace, the musical. I’ve been twitching since.

[Mr Burns.]
Why, you might as well write a musical about the common housecat or the king of Siam!
[/Mr. Burns]

Well that tears it. If they can’t hold the spirit of the original, then I ain’t interested. My approximately zero percent chance of ever seeing seeing that musical is now seriously jeopardized.

Go read my review over in the society wolf. It’s worth seeing, even if they gloss over the death blossom.
