The light at the end of the tunnel & other advice MMP

Those Victorians were a taciturn lot.

Do I look like Wikipedia? I mean, I’d assume so too, but Googling it is all I’m gonna do. I wasn’t there when it got named or anything. Never been there at all actually, not even in a dream with a horse.

I tend to avoid London, there’s too much of it and I find a little goes a long way.

Yes, it turns out it is named for Vicky’s Albert.

Thanks, Filbert.

This is horrible, but those of you who, like me, arc sick will find it to be amusing:

Two girls if Florida planned to kill and eat some of their classmates.

“The girls planned to stake out a school bathroom and wait for smaller students to enter, according to the police affidavit. They planned to cut their victims’ throats, cut up their bodies, eat the flesh and drink their victims’ blood, authorities said.”

"Detectives said the girls devised the plot while watching “scary” movies at one of their houses over the weekend.

The alleged plot was foiled when administrators searched for them after they didn’t show up for class Tuesday. The administrators found them in a bathroom stall and brought them back to their offices where they found the girls in possession of four knives, a pizza cutter and a knife sharpener, police said."

I can see planning ahead and bringing a knife sharpener, but what was the pizza cutter for?

Yes it was and across the road is a B.A. statue of Albert.

Cool. Victoria loved him very much, a rarity in European royalty.

I read that as Vichy Albert.

Howdy Y’all! I N.O.L.ed and learnt, went to :eek:Wally*World:eek:, came back to da cave, made sup and et said sup. I occupied my time today, I did! 'Tis rainy and coolish out so good to be inside and dry.

Doc the area you’re lookin’ at is up around Butter’s ol’ stompin’ grounds. Nice, mostly rural area.

Evening all. Rain started about 1pm and has been falling since then; not a heavy downpour, just a good ‘soaking’ rain, as my Mom used to call it (a hard rain was a gully washer). Still had to call off soccer practice tonight and maybe Firday.

So outside of nappage and putting some stuff away, I was completely unproductive. Which is not a bad thing.

flytrap, the pizza cutter was for seconds… (and yes, it is a horrible story and I am happy no one was injured/killed).

Sari, between you and FCM, I may not go to bed tonight…

Wow, doc, that was a fast sale!

shade, does your state charge bottle deposit? When I lived in northern Indiana, there was always a difference in the price of soda, beer, juice, etc than what it was a couple of miles away across the Michigan state line. Because most bottles and cans had the return for deposit label on them everywhere, you bought in Indiana and when the bottle and can bin was full, went to Michigan to turn them in.

metal mouse, you are correct. Stewart Creek does run through the old base though. :stuck_out_tongue:

doggio, kilt night sounds like fun!

Speaking of things Celtic, SIL and I are heading to Tullahoma Saturday to partake of the All Hallows Eve High Tea at the Celtic Cup. I’m even going to wear a tartan skirt.

Wow. TGIalmostF!

This week so far has included a sprained finger thanks to stopping a friend from running out the door and a cold complete with hacking cough that won’t leave me alone. Oh, and my very own mini-meltdown in front of a superior who I thought had come into my room to criticize me and my crew. Whee!!

Are Plus Born Again Heathens a band or obnoxious non-religious folks?

…& they had lots of lacy unmentionables, too.
Pizza joint screwed up; they were s’posed to bring in lunch tomorrow, but they delivered today. Office admin wasn’t even there today. I went to get my lunch & there’s 4 yuge bags on the kitchen table (a dozenish steaks, 5 orders of fries & 4 of onion rings. We have a microwave, they won’t reheat well in that though you can possibly salvage them in an oven. Therefore, I et well…until about 4 hrs later; the onion rings decided to give me indigestion, bad enough I couldn’t even run. :frowning:

Just got back from doing a pick up for a friend’s kid from his workplace. This is the friend whose beagle stayed with me last summer. Long story short, I have now been lost in a trailer park bigger than the town I grew up in. :stuck_out_tongue:

Forgotted to state that I had to detour on the way home from irk because a cement twuck driver failed to read the multiple low bridge signs. Ours is 10’ 10", not even 11’ 8". It was, I believe, #48.

#48?

For the audience:
Born Again Heathens: Celtic/punk
Tan and Sober Gentlemen: Celtic/Bluegrass
Tuatha Dea: Appalachian/Celtic
Albannach: Scottish
There will be a test(after a few pints)

Happy Firday!

Not really happy, I’ve been up since before 4. I heard a noise, loud enough to wake me, loud enough that Ripple went berserk, and my son went exploring for its source.
Have no idea what it was.

Supposed to be cloudy today, with rain later this evening.

No weird dreams that I remember.
MetalMouse, my dreams usually aren’t scary to me. In them it is perfectly normal to knock on a tombstone, have the ground open up, descend the stairs, and have tea with the dead. Even after I wake up all I think is, well that was strange. It’s only when I go to share them that I realize how messed up they really are.

We are pickig up groceries today.
Other than that just another normal day around here.

It was 65° in the house when I woke. I bumped the thermostat up to 67. Nothing happened. Dammit. I’ll have to get **FCD **to call the furnace guys - they just serviced it earlier this month. Dammit.

Other than that, TGIF!!!

That’s the score: Bridge - 48, vehicles over 10’10" - 0. (11’8" is up to, 121!)
Sari, was there candy in the dream? If so, your dreams are ready for All Hallows Eve.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 with rain this mornin’ and looks like mostly cloudy for the day. Like MetalMouse said we have had a good steady soakin’ rain overnight. Fine by me if’n it does the same today. No plans at all for the day. I shall putter around da cave. Taco soup for tonight’s sup. OLÈ!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, we shall see what the day holds forth.

Happy Firday Y’all!
