The lost cosby show script

This is amazing IF it is true.

Does anybody know if it is true?

Powerful writing and very sad.

I’m reading it now…

Yeah… that’s pretty clearly fake.

Fakerooni from the get-go.

I have determined that the font in the linked script is not the font that was used by the Cosby show at that time.

The line about the “Phillies” rug tying the room together was a dead giveaway.

From the very first line of the intro:

Nowhere near triggering Poe’s Law. Obvious send-up.

Bachem Macunois a regular creator of rude satire/parody blogposts.

Actually, now that I read it again I see that this line doesn’t make sense.

“Lisa Bonet also proved a loyal friend after his firing, reassuring him, “No matter what, I’ll still buy pot from you. Hey, did you hear about the crazy episode somebody on the show wrote about rape?””

She would have known that he was the one who had written it and would have been VERY upset with him.

Anyway, this guy IS a very good writer. I just read/watched another one of his creations on you tube. And that script is very good, IMHO.

He’s done some funny stuff over the years. While reading the script I could actually picture Cosby and company playing it out. In my head it seemed like my memories of the real show. Well… except for the actual content.

Am I the only person in this Universe who couldn’t stand the show? As far as I was concerned, it was both lame and sickeningly sweet. I switched it off in the middle of my second episode and never watched it again.

In my head, I tended to tune out the rest of the cast, it was typical sitcom fare. I hadn’t listened to all of Cosby’s comedy records (that’s a thing people did, before there was video-on-demand) so his antics were intriguing to me. I would often switch channels during The Simpsons commercial breaks – that’s another thing people did back then, before On Demand programming.

I’m trying to make the point that it was a different time then for American television.

I was a huge Bill Cosby fan when I was in junior high (late 60’s). Pretty much memorized all his records; stayed up late to watch I Spy. I’m not sure why, but I just lost interest in him, to the point that I’ve never watched even a minute of his show.

Is there a point to this thread now? It’s an obvious fake. What’s the point?

Well, it obviously can’t compare to the earth-shattering importance of rating video games, but evidently some people find it entertaining. If you don’t, here’s an idea: stop reading it.

Yikes. My apologies. Didn’t expect that. Carry on.

Wow, I had no idea I would get that.

Very silly, and quite mean, but as a recovering Bill Cosby fan, I found that oddly therapeutic.

I get what they were trying to do, but I thought it lost all humor when they switched gears. I think one that was more “wink-wink, nudge-nudge” would have worked better. Or one that really cranked up the satire.

The real missing script…
Denise: What’s up, Dad? My friend Judy and I will be studying up in my bedroom.

Cliff: Great. Say, why don’t I make you girls some drinks first?

Judy: Yummy. Your Dad is so cool, Denise.

Denise: Yeah. You know, I’m feeling sleepy all of a sudden…
