I shall attempt to cook some pork ribs on my FIL’s charcoal smoker while Mrs. Plant v.3.0 is away with her Sprout Saturday.

I’s got a turkey thawing in the sink, for tomorrow is Smokefest. I have planned for said turkey, a big rack o’ ribs, and a metric buttload of sausage. Sunday is forecast to be another Apocalypse, so I’m not lighting my smoker in the monsoon.

I’s stuffded! So is OYKW. He was thrilled, thrilled, I say, with the peach cobbler made with fresh peaches. I was rightly pleased myself will how well it turned out bein’ as the last time I attempted with fresh peaches it was good but lacked a little in sweetness. This one is just right. Go Me!
Good luck with the rib smokin’ FlyTrap. Have fun with your Smokefest BBBobbio. Mine was last weekend and let me tell ya, it’ll be a little while before I do another one. That wore me out. Then again, I did do it on an uber hawt day.

Had an interesting day, but I would rather tell you about last night.
Normal rock show, 3 bands, most of the musicians are in their late twenties. Oddball thing the headliner was from Belfast, Northern Ireland. That was a first for me, have worked with the Irish before but have never even met anyone from NI before. Nice guys we had a great time, so at the end of the evening I ask the question that I have been thinking about all night. “So what do you think about Martin McGuiness meeting with the Queen?” as answered by all “Do not care, none of us or our friends have anything to do with that, it is for old people”. So after I pick my jaw up off the floor and a few more questions, I have come to realize that there is hope for all of us. The youth of NI think that the partisans on both sides are “Idiots” and “Thugs” and would happily report any of them to the police. IIRC the last bombing was 15 years ago and the “Real IRA” is still about but it seems that in a generation this is done, kaput. I know this is probably not a universal thing but it does give me hope for the World.

I have a lost one and found another story. I was at a camping/music event and left my favorite hat on my cooler overnight. When I woke up it was missing. Later I found a camera someone left on the cooler. By the end no one had claimed it so I took it home.
I posted in the message board about both. Someone did have a picture of someone wearing my hat but didn’t know who they were. No one knew who the camera belonged to.
So I lost my hat but got a camera in exchange.

Personally, I believe the world would be better off if Northern Ireland and the United States were still part of the British Empire, but your mileage may vary.

I foresee some relaxin’ pool time with some hot dawgs thrown on the grill for later. JDD and Partner are comin’ over to chill with us. No large cookin’ or great hoardes of people. Just chillin’ and relaxatin’. AHHHHHHH!

I had a coffee crisis. My coffee maker died. I fiddle-farted around with that damn thing for nearly two hours trying to get it to work. Finally, out of sheer desperation, I dug my blue enamel camping coffee pot out of the garage and cleaned it up.
I then proceeded to make coffee on the stove top. I didn’t let it “percolate” long enough, I guess, because I think it’s weak. My husband thinks it’s just great.
So, I shall have to buy a new coffee maker today. Damn, I wanted to go get a pedicure, but now I have to fool around with this stuff. STOOPIT coffee maker.:mad:
I guess the good thing is I managed to get some sort of coffee this morning. The things a gal will do for some coffee…
