The Love That Has No Name... Movies You Watch In Shame

Oh, man…I could do this shit all day. NO ONE likes the movies I do. Although I have to give mad support for Singles. Good flick. I own it on DVD. Some others:

The Adventures of Ford Fairlane
Tango & Cash
Two Girls And A Guy
Killing Me Softly
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

It wasn’t the financing … it was THE TOOTH! THE TOOOOOOOOOOOTH!!!

You’re not alone buddy. I own the DVD. And I love it.

I do feel shame though when I add Beautician and the Beast to the list. Yes it’s a 2 hour version of The Nanny. No, it has no redeeming qualities. Yes, I watch it whenever it’s on TV.

Are you kidding? Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season alone is worth the ticket price or rental fee for that one! God, I love that movie. I even like Will Ferrell in it, and I never like Will Ferrell.

Corman directed, I assume? And please tell me Dick Miller shows up somewhere!

Coyote Ugly.

I unapologetically love romantic comedies but I have some that I don’t like admitting to and this is one of them but that doesn’t stop me from watching it every time I run across it on TV and owning the VHS. When I build my DVD collection back up, I’ll be getting it on disc as well.

It’s on right now, and I just ran in to post.
Two Of A Kind, with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
God decides to end the world, but a couple of angels (Scatman Crothers is one) convince Him to give them one more chance to prove there’s good in the world. They have to make JT and ON-J fall in love in a week’s time.
So bad it’s good.

Cheerleader Ninjas :o

I laughed like a loon.

I saw The Wash, Barbershop and Barbershop 2 all on my own. They aren’t bad movies per se, but in my circle of white-bred suburban Ohio friends, they are unthinkable as far as movies go

I also really liked El Topo and have seen it 3 times, but no one else seems to understand it (can’t say that I do either, but it captures my attention).

I always watch Troop Beverly Hills with Shelly Long. That’s a staple from my childhood. Same with What About Bob?

I have a soft spot in my heart for Never Been Kissed, even though I usually hate movies like that.

Dr. Detroit
Xanadu
Brain Smasher-A Love Story
Hot Potato
Brain Donors

Ice Pirates, with Robert Urich and Mary Crosby.

I don’t think I need to say anything else…

I don’t know if I should be ashamed of these but

Dumb and Dumber

Tommy Boy

Foxes

Captivated on a recent rainy Sunday afternoon by Cannonball Run II. Can’t wait to catch the original.

Hee. . . the recent version of Island of Dr. Moreau with Brando. Gadamn, I love this movie.
It’s critical estimation seems to be reaching Ishtar-like levels of infamy.

Bring It On.

Definitely, Bring It On.

Some videos/DVDs in my collection I feel a little embarresed to have people browsing:

Wizards, the Bakshi cartoon from the late 70s.
The Crow: Salvation (aka “Crow 3”). It never got a theatrical release, but it’s surprisingly good, especially compared to the horror of “The Crow: City of Angels”.
Ever After. What can I say, I’ve got a thing for Drew Barrymore.
Seasons 1-6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and seasons 1-3 of Angel. I guess embarresed isn’t quite right, but I do get some snide remarks made at my expense.

And Teine, I wait with baited breath for a DVD release of Ice Pirates.

Bad movies…I love 'em. A few of my faves:

[ul]
[li]Masters of the Universe - sucks so hard that popcorn flies from my couch and sticks to the TV screen, but I love it good.[/li][li]The Wraith - Awful. Fun. Sherilyn Fenn ::drool:: High Plains Drifter meets…uh… something else.[/li][li]The Gladiator - Another awesomely horrible 80’s deathcar epic.[/li][/ul]

There are more stinkers I dig watching, but the list would just be too damn long…

No, it was produced and directed by Fred Olen Ray, and there’s no Dick Miller in the credits, but we DO have a cameo by Stanley Livingston of My 3 Sons.

Satan’s Cheerleaders - A true d-movie drive-in third feature. Starring John Carradine and a post Munsters Yvonne De Carlo as satanists trying to find a virgin for sacrifice amongst a group of high school cheerleaders. Little do they know…
