Fierce Grape and Lime were probably my favorites. I’m not sure if Lime is around any more. After that, orange and fruit punch. Lemon-lime is not a big hit with me, and the mystery flavors (what exactly does a Riptide Rush taste like, anyway?) have always been too, um, mysterious for me to take a chance on. Don’t drink any of it much these days–tend to go for Vitamin Water if anything in that general vein.
You shut your mouth! Riptide Rush tastes like freedom. (Actually, it just tastes like “purple” - maybe “light purple” if you’re a fan of artificial full-strength grape.)
Yeah, I miss that one too.
Cool blue (easily confused with Glacier Freeze), I always assumed, was supposed to be that blue raspberry flavor that doesn’t exist in nature. It came out when I was in junior high along with a green apple flavor that I was pretty fond of after races.
They seemed to have stopped making the strawberry flavor. I liked that one because it reminds me of the flavor they used for amoxicillin elixir for little kids back in the day (admit it: that taste made you WANT an ear infection when you were little, didn’t it? =P).
The rain flavors were pretty unimpressive except for cherry. That one was actually good.
My favorite overall is probably tropical punch. They made it for most of the 90s, then stopped, and brought it back for a while as a “FIERCE” flavor. It was visually almost indistinguishable from the regular fruit punch except it was slightly more pink, and its label might have been a different color too. It had something of a pineapple flavor to it.
My favorite “regular” flavor is fruit punch, and it’s pretty much the only one I drink anymore, but I used to love one they had called Cherry Rush. That shit was the shit, and I don’t even like cherry-flavored stuff as a rule. I’m interested in trying to find some of the other flavors mentioned here though… I’m currently trying to find a Latino grocer in Abilene.
