Listen, the GOP does not get a fair shake on this board, and frankly it’s getting a little tiresome. Sure, we disagree on many policies (e.g., should citizens die for lack of basic medical care), but Republicans are not without hearts.
So, enough with the demonization, let’s share examples of the kindness and compassion we see every day from our friends across the aisle. I’ll start, with just a few I’m aware of:
Free soft drink refills at any razor wire buoys in border rivers.
Pardons for all at every fifth insurrection.
“Leave a tiki torch, take a tiki torch” baskets at all neo-Nazi demonstrations.
Low-cost, user-friendly “thoughts and prayers” website for shooting victims’ families, 50% discount for repeat customers.
Free number tattoos for families separated at the border, for easier possible reunification if anyone is released alive.
Any others that you’re aware of? Let’s be generous and acknowledge the goodness we see from our GOP brothers and sisters.
This is not suitable fare for IMHO. It’s political and ranty. If you want, I can move it to the pit. Or you might ask a P&E mod if it would be okay there (although I think it’s better for the pit.)
Anyway, I’ve closed it here, and it will stay closed until/unless it’s moved.
For many values of American Christian, you can get your religious sermon and political sermon at the same venue and the same time! Two-for-one is the American way!
They claim to oppose affirmative action, but they found Tommy Tuberville a job, and gave him an assistant to remind him to breathe. Now he’s a role model for all stupid people.
I’m surprised that no one yet has pointed out the biggest example of GOP compassion. They took a totally unqualified person, with a history of questionable behavior, and provided him with a four-year job.
