The Match.com drinking game

My OkCupid profile nets 4 points*: 2 for a picture of childless me with a baby, and 2 for mentioning game-playing. I guess no one will get drunk enough to want to write to me.

*But I’ll have to add points once a value gets assigned to travel references, per ultrafilter’s post. :frowning:

I’m not sure this is worthy of the drinking game, but am I the only person who rolls his eyes a little bit when coming across a profile where the girl describes herself as cute? I mean, yeah, it’s good to have a positive self-image, but isn’t that more of an “in the eye of the beholder” kind of thing?

So, I’m teetering on giving up hope with Match.com. After reviewing the Match.com drinking game on Straightdope.com I got a wild-hair idea: anyone want to view my Match.com profile and let me know how it comes across to you?

Certainly I can do the math and add up points myself, but frankly my profile’s not racking up many points according to this game. So, what’s the scoop?

Advice I’ve received, in no particular order, includes: 1. men have fragile egos and may be intimidated by a confident woman (as I am) 2. a man who is on a dating site may be insecure and shy away from a woman who would reveal intimate things about themselves (as I do) because he may think he’s expected to be so forthcoming from the start and he prefers to reveal things slowly 3. Lose weight (countered by don’t lose weight) 4. Profile is just too much to read (though paragraphs are bite-sized and not one long essay), etc.

Background: I’ve been on and off of dating sites for years - taking long breaks in between. Most recently I’ve included explicit sexual details, for example about how I kiss, and have toned the profile back down. I’ve tried different ways of describing that I don’t have kids or want to give birth, but would be comfortable dating a man who has children.

Anyone game?

Welcome to the site, Evesplace. I’m locking this thread, though, because it’s very old.
