The Memorial Day MMP

Happy Birthday Bumba!

Midget what Swampy said. :stuck_out_tongue:

Moomm I’m glad it worked out. Maybe he needs a helper for when he hits deadlines?

Last night was weird. Neither one of us got any sleep until about 7 am. We’re up now, but I feel wrecked. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m against it. I vote no.

M-240 machine guns, M-134 miniguns and GAU-19 gatling.
Cool!

He’s training our SIL, but the guy knows nothing and he’s not big on attention to detail. Personally, I don’t see him lasting long, but I could be wrong.

I fell asleep watching TV - maybe 90 minutes or so? Just back from a grocery-and-fried-rice run. **FCD **is working out the program for the modified base unit - I hope he’s not going to be up all night again tonight. Like I have any say in the matter.

And a big surprise in the mail today - a bonus check from the company president. They don’t want me to quit. Wonder if they’d let me work from home?? Anyway - woohoo! Money!!!

Our housemates are going to his mother’s this evening. I guess she wants to see the baby again. So we’ve got some quiet ahead. Well, as quiet as things can be with 5 cats and 2 pugs. Admit it - you envy my life.

Happy Birthday Bumba!

Ripple stole my flip flops today, they were old and cheap. I haven’t worn them in years, and they hurt my feet. I debated taking them away from him just because I don’t like him thinking he can take whatever he wants, but I decided they can be his new chew toy.
Cheap chew toy, cheaper than the stuff you have to buy.

Frustrating day.
The internet still keeps going in and out. I called the company yesterday and they show everything as being okay. Now the phone is acting up and I missed several irk calls. I’m using my cell phone for irk. I may just cancel the house phone and use my cell all the time.

Majik intartoobz pizza has been ingested. The rain has stopped. All is well.

GMOOOOOOM I take it Higgs and Cozmo are gettin’ along.

Higgs and Cosmo have always gotten along… mostly.

The dishwasher is washing and I just finished vacuuming. So there’s been some productivity. And an early bedtime. FCD hopes to sleep, too. We shall see.

Happy birthday bumba!

sari, the biggest thing I would worry about with Ripple chewing your flip flops is that he gets a taste for your shoes.

I found a good deal on CL today and bought ~$300 worth of stuff for the studio for $35. I still had to go to the craft sto’ for adhesives though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wasps are attracted to the truck. I’ve found them in both door wells. One attacked me from the driver’s side mirror when I cleaned it today. Spawn of Satan.

Me too! Just today, while I’m trying to get the Suburban moved into position for the MiL to get into it, I notice a tiny wasp’s nest in the driver’s side mirror, and a ^#&$*@ wasp trying to get into the car every time I open the door. I’m trying to figure out how to get rid of them without getting stung.

Uncle Kopek was part of the team that worked out how to mount and operate the mini-guns in “Puff”. He spent most of his years Brown Show/Black Shoe and then as a civilian advisor helping the AF develop ---- stuff.

Me named for someone making creative use of their generally violent tendencies. Go figure.

Iffin the house lifts off the ground and lands STAY INSIDE!!! Ya’ll may just miss Kansas and end up in Ar-kansas. And from what I heared some pretty strange people live in Ar-kansas.

Didn’t read. Waiting for the 1 train to my race.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark actually) with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. As I mentioned yestiddy, we shall deheathenate with the Luteruns, have N.O.L. at da cave, have an afternoon of quality cee-mint pond time (YAY!), and sup upon burgers and N.O.T. sallit. A wonderful day ahead!

Ruble I’m told that if one finds oneself in Ar-Kansas one should have several cans of this on hand as it is a favorite amongst the natives.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up after a relatively decent sleep of just under 6 hours. I’ve tended to the critters, made **FCD **some breakfast, and I’m just finishing my egg sammich before going downstairs to help him finish assembling the seat adjusters. He’s got to deliver them at 10 today, and with luck, he’ll be home before noon.

Apart from helping him, I need to wash clothes and I’ll run the vacuum again because I spotted more aluminum chips in the carpet. I love my little Shark - it sucks up more crud than my Bissel ever did! I’ve also got to empty the dishwasher, and I’ve got a hunk o’ beef that will be supper. With luck, it won’t be too frantic today.

There’s supposed to be an air show at NAS Pax, but with the overcast and the threat of rain, I’ll be amazed if it happens. Luckily, it’s far enough away that we shouldn’t have to hear “The Sounds of Freedom” aka jet roars. They were rattling our building on Thurs and Fri as they practiced - quite enough for me, thanks. The Blue Angels are cool, but over the last 45 years, I’ve seen them plenty, so I’m good.

Happy Sunday!

Up ,caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. It’s raining.
HAPPY [SUB][SUB]BELATED[/SUB][/SUB] BIRTHDAY Bumba!!!

Going to church at the early service today. Afterwards my sister, BIL, and myself are headed over to Sacred Heart Catholic for the annual Germanfest and it’s food. Sacred Heart is really only a few blocks from Our Lady of Guadalupe parish, so the folks from each congregation help each other out. Next month is the OLOG annual Mexican Fiesta, and that brings another crowd to the neighborhood. Nummies!

baker, when I lived in Indiana, I was down the street from Nuestra dona de Guadalupe and would go to their festivals / food fundraisers for a meal. A bellyful of barbecoa is a wonderful thing.

I nees to go to Staples, Tar-jay and 5 Below today. With the CL stuff from yesterday, I nees some storage pieces to put them in. Staples and Tar-jay are for the usual stuff.

Afternoon all!

It’s scorchio here, by local standards, and I’m trying not to eat all the ice creams. S’posed to get storms and fun stuff tomorrow though.

I’ve started looking for another summer job, as I may as well try and make a bit o’ cash if I’m not doing anything much. Got an interview for bar/waitressing at a country pub tomorrow, which looks like it could work out hours wise around my existing job. It’s nice to be in the situation where I don’t need a job, so I’m interviewing them as much as they’re interviewing me for once.

The other excitement of the day is trying to set off a sourdough starter. I’ve not tried playing with sourdough before, but I do like making pizza, so I’m giving it a go. Any (sensible) advice welcome!

I nees a nap, and I’m thinking we may have a new Mumper meme here.

**FCD **and I finished everything he had to get done in enough time for a top at Cracker Barrel where he had his first real meal in several days. I just got a muffin since I’d eaten earlier.

Afterwards, he went to his meeting and I came home via the credit union in Leonardtown since we both need some pocket money. The first load of jeans is washing and the dishwasher is empty. Stoopit cat(s) made a mess around the fountain that I had to clean up, but it’s all good now.

Raining and blowing like crazy - methinks the airshow isn’t going to happen today…

Happy Sunday!

If the rain beating against the window hadn’t wakened me too early, the dog barking at the rain beating against the window would have.
I stayed up for a bit and then took a nap, which I would still be taking if Ripple hadn’t stuck his nose in my face to ask me how I was doing? Now I’m awake and he is sleeping.
The brat.

Red - Ripple does have a taste for my shoes, but only when my feet are in them OUCH!
Nothing special going on today, just the usual SSDD.

SIL finally got out of bed - at 2 this afternoon. He’s only lived here 2 weeks and I’m hard-pressed to find anything positive about him, apart from his care of his daughter. Honest-to-goodness, I don’t know what my daughter sees in him…

I’m being nice, but I’m thinking many not-nice thoughts.
